Broner vs Mikey Garcia Official for July 29

Been officially announced today by Showtime for July 29th. They'll be fighting at 140lbs.



Mikey Garcia is a level above Broner at this point in their careers. Just hope the fight actually happens and Broner doesn't fuck things up somehow.

Mikey has said that even though he's going to 140 for this, he'll be back at 135 afterwards and try for unification bouts.

We don't have to estimate anything at this point, we know exactly who Broner is. At his very best, Broner is a guy who gets annihilated by Maidana and nearly shut out by Porter. I don't think Mikey Garcia will have much trouble, even though Broner is much bigger than him.

I don't see Broner making 140 but I hope he does. His size advantage will be massive and I think he's undefeated at 140 but Mikey is too good and Broner takes too many rounds off to win.

But the guy is not a good boxer and seemingly lost any heart he once had when Maidana beat it out of him. He's been in trouble repeatedly since then, looked mediocre, and is fat in recent pictures. He's supposed to go all the way down to 140? Not sure that's happening.
