Boxings Strangest Most Bizzare Moments

- Tons of stuff from USA Tuesday Night Fights. What a great/bizare program that was.

- Mike White, the guy Moorer fought in the opening, beat Buster Douglas early in his career.

- I watched Fan Man fight live. Was annoyed at how long it took the fight to get over due to that. Got my first speeding ticket that night trying to get home quickly since I didn't get out onto the road until very late. Later, I remember an interview where Evander stated that his back was spasming during that fight, so the break let him relax his back. I wonder if it had an impact on the result.

- Lots of Golata stuff. Wonder why he kept getting fights on TV. I remember watching his bite of Paua live. Strange. Also, Paua could have been a decent heavyweight back in the 90s.

- I have never actually watched Foreman-Stewart. However, that clip was interesting. The commentators stated that Steele was taking a point away from George. But, I didn't see anything from Steele indicating a point being taken away...just a call for a timeout to let him rest. Was a point actually taken away?

- Read a book (I believe it was about the Tyson-Douglas fight) and it discusses Tillery in one of the chapters. Tillery was awesome in sparing sessions. He was a fantastic gym fighter, but he couldn't translate it to the ring come fight time. With that said, he certainly made contenders even better as a sparing partner. If I remember correctly, wasn't the rematch on HBO?

- Holmes-Pipeli wasn't much of a fight. Not sure why that was added to the oddity video. Jabs lead to a cut.

Yes, 1 point for a low blow.

You might know this, but if you click the little book/encyclopedia icon on a boxrec page, you will get info on that fight, so long as its an "open book" icon.

Rounds 1 + 2

Rounds 3 + 4 + 5 (KO)

I guess if there's an "insignificant shit" subcategory to this topic then Floyd Mayweather's first fight deserves a mention.

- Deep into round two they were still trying to find his mouthpiece

- Do not worry. Eventually they would find it. Dude still gets put away and literally knocked out of the ring by Lucia Rijker in the fifth round

The time Maidana bit Mayweather, and the porn actress-sound Floyd made. Or what would one call that sound... ruttish cat?

I know a lot of people don't think Maidana bit him. I think he did and don't really have a problem with it. It's the same reason Saul punched him in the thigh when Mayweather had him in the same position. Floyd covers his opponents mouth and nose with his hand when that happens so they can't take deep breathes.

To paraphrase Richard Pryor quoting Jim Brown "anything on the outside of my mouth belong to him, anything on the inside of my mouth belongs to me."

He clearly bit him. I can't believe people say he didn't.

Check out the first few seconds of this vid. Clearly a bite.

Hard to tell if Maidana was actually biting down or if Floyd's hand was just in his mouth (as he tends to do). But I don't see why Floyd would lie about it. Not like he needed the extra points in that fight.
