Boxing fans thoughts on Mayweather vs McGregor in MMA

dunno if people are serious or not.

Fighters like Nam Phan and Dennis Siver would beat Floyd lol

Hell, even Ray Borg might sub him

Why do you bold/color your text? I have a hunch that this website means a lot more to you than it should. All of your posts scream ‘insecure’.

Bet conor starts the fight with a head kick and mayweather becomes a panic wrestler

The boxing fight was a lame spectacle. An MMA fight would be even more silly. So yeah, book the garbage, people will pay top dollars to watch it...

nicely summarized. a million people bought the pet rock, that proves it's awesomeness.

Conor would only need a kick or 2 to end it. Even if Conor gets rocked he could easily panic wrestle and finish Floyd on the ground. Plus Floyd doesn't have 1 punch KO power. Anyone that thinks Floyd has a chance in an MMA match is fucking retarded. The match would last as long as Conor wished it to.

floyd via tko

conor is stupid enough to try and box with him in a mma fight

the fight IS NOT happening anyway

but floyd via KO ;)
Lmao
Conor will kick his little leg off.
Also, he would definitely outbox him with 4oz gloves. No covering up for Floyd’s manlet ass.

Let's not turn the ignorance the other way around. Let's not be like the people who believed Conor could beat Floyd in boxing. Floyd is a boxer, not a MMA fighter. And that's ok. Would he beat Conor in MMA? Logic says no. But still, none of us know how much Floyd could learn at his age. What if he picked up TDD really, really quick? It's not impossible. We can't really weigh on the outcome of a fight without knowing how much Floyd could learn.

If Floyd could've finished Conor in R1, he would've. Floyd himself said he and Sr. planned to take Conor out late after 25 minutes of fighting but had to wait until the 10th round.

Floyd even bet 6 figures on himself winning in under 9 & 1/2 but couldn't get it done until the next round. Why would he lose on his bet if he was "carrying" Conor?

Sit down you clown. YDKSAB. YDKSAF either tbh.

No. Floyd was not allowed to put a bet on himself on a specific round since that would be fixing the fight. He was only allowed to bet on whether he wins or loses.
And ur a fuckin moron if u think McGregor made it to the 10th because of his skills.
I've watched every Mayweather fight and anyone who watches boxing could tell Floyd was carrying him. Floyd went 33% for the first half of the fight, if that.

The only reason that McGregor was allowed to box was because Floyd told Dana that he wouldn't massacre him and keep it interesting. Little did Dana know that Floyd just killed MMA.
No one watches it anymore

Conor wins in the cage but you are of course wrong , Floyd does not have 1 punch KO power in 8oz gloves but as you could clearly see McG which has such attribute in MMA was not even close to have any impact on Floyd in 8oz , if Floyd hits Conor clean with 4Oz Connor is going bye bye and thats all there is to it , he knows how to hit clean and sharp , If conor plans to box floyd in a cage he will lose and lose badly.

Floyd's only chance would be if Conor's ego made him stand and box. I think Conor would soften up with leg kicks and get the take down and TKO him, Probably in the first three minutes.

Ahhhh hemmm....ahhh, I hate to be the voice of reason here, but Mayweather got a fucking boxing clinic put on him for the first time in his life and then McGregor gassed. That is what the fight was: a bizarre boxing clinic by an MMA fighter on the greatest known boxer ever, followed by said MMA fighter gassing and not even a knock down. Big George has been speaking the truth on this, but so many on this forum are so emotionally invested that they can not admit, nor see, that CMac was beating Floyd at his game - in fact, he has been the only 'boxer' to ever do so and we all thought Conor out boxing Floyd would be the least likely out come.

there is a lot of gray area here. let me try to be more specific than "carry".

1. Conor did what a lot of us thought he wouldn't do; he landed an uppercut in the first round.

2. and didn't phase Floyd. a lot of that has to do with stance; Conor was so focused on keeping a traditional "boxing stance" and getting back into a boxing defensive position that he lost a lot of his power we got used to seeing in the cage. because he was thinking too much, and forcing his body to do actions that didn't come natural. his punches were arm punches.

3. Floyd was never in trouble. even when he ate the uppercut.

4. Floyd didn't try offense for the first 10 minutes.

5. it took Floyd longer to TKO Conor than Floyd thought. from the 5th on Conor was putty in his hands, but Conor kept eating his punches.

unfortunately, most of these nuances get lost when people simply defend or attack the word "carry".

fans of this circus all feel pride that Conor landed an uppercut and lasted almost 30 minutes, my points #1 & #5. that's fine. but they should also acknowledge the other points #'s 2-4.

and of course, vice verse. Conor detractors should acknowledge that - although Floyd was never in danger - finishing the fight was harder than Floyd expected it to be.

TLDR: Conor did better than many thought he would, and yet the outcome of this 'contest' was still never in doubt.

Did better than Maidana.

you do know the longer the fight went the more Pay Per View buys they would get? Kinda makes sense to go toward the last rounds. dont be a fool and believe Conor did shit. He had no business being in the ring with floyd and we saw that by floyd not boxing..walking him down the whole fight. no faints..no sparring in training..no running..zero defense. even then he was throwing punches just for amusement untilt he later rounds when all of a sudden his punches had alittle more pop on them. fight was for fun..take it for what it was.

lmao how fucking funny would it be if a boxer came into the UFC and actually beat the so-called biggest star.

This guy's obviously delusional though. He would get violated on the mat.
He could theoretically be taught enough in a short amount of time to stall and negate Conor's ground game long enough to get stood up. That's basically what he did in the Pac fight, right?

And he probably would throw hard elbows in the clinch since his hands are fragile, and the gloves are small. If you know how to deliver force in a short distance punch, learning an elbow isn't that hard.

I dunno. Never say never.
