Boon or bane?

I'm still waiting for the hilarious moments of someone walking in on a person using it.

What's strange is how accepted spank fodder is nowadays. I work in the tech industry, and I work with some straight up nerds and they all have their favorite porn stars.
It used to be a matter of shame, now it's a matter of course.

I believe that porn should be banned in the USA.

Work on yourself as a man, then go out and win the heart of a real woman.

Yea. It definitely use to be an unspoken thing and now it seems to just be a part of mainstream society/ media. Even non potk Stars have kinda shifted more towards being unofficial ones. The kardashian girls make the news just by showing themselves naked from time to
time

It's weird. When I was a kid, "that guy in the raincoat" that hung out at the XXX arcades was considered a creep.
If they ever remake Taxi Driver, that scene where Travis takes Betsy on their first date to the adult theater would have to be rewritten.

neither. bone.

When mainstream newscasts reference Game Of Thrones like it is pop-culture normalcy you know there's a problem. I can imagine there's been a few who were shocked thinking they were hearing about a family show and indulging with a PG mind.

Game of Thrones is a terrible example. the books are 10x more vulgar, but real in portraying the vile behavior possessed by man. next, it's on HBO - what do you expect? HBO was all about ass & tits even when I was a kid growing up in the 80s.

a better example would be Kim Kardashian & co. she sets the worst example to children.

My point is more that when it is being mentioned in very mainstream, G-rated programming almost like it's of the same programming as America's Got Talent, that to me is indicative. I believe the Kardashians are problematic too, don't get me wrong.

But I watched about a season and a half of GOT and let's see, there was a semi-explicit incest scene, a sadomasachist lesbian scene with exposed butt-hole; lengthy semi-explicit lesbian, gay and straight sex scenes (a few of which for voyeuristic, exploitive pleasure); an older child actor breastfeeding from what was likely an actress not his mother; etc., to me that is problematic. It's one thing for something to be HBO material (and I'm quite anti-censorship if I had to choose), and it's another thing to reference it as if it is practically family viewing. I think I've heard/seen more GOT references than any other show during prime time tbh.

And yeah, the addiction to horrendous celebrity examples is indicative of a problem too, I agree.

I believe religion should be banned in the USA. Work on yourself as a thinking person, then go out and read a physics book.

I disagree. I think the single most selfish act I see today is people reproducing. Our planet is over populated.

Once you take reproduction out of the equation, there is no point to monogomy.

I've not once ever heard GoT categorized as "G-Rated programming". I have 8/9 years working in the television/entertainment industry & all the talk about GoT is always about how twisted it is.

I literally have no clue what you're watching & where, but I'm around children a lot of the time & they have no idea what GoT is other than it's meant for adults & "looks boring".

Developed nations outside of Israel have an unsustainable birth rate because they are so low, and this causes a lot of problems over the long term.

Unless you are referring to the developing world.

Also, strong family is correlated with strong outcomes in terms of peoples success.

In any case, it seems we're heading towards some version of Huxley's Brave New World with the breakup of the family unit as a building block of society, and a hook-up, materialist culture forming.

VR Porn is bound to have some pretty damaging psychological effects, as does regular porn.

You mustn't watch much television or listen to much radio, honestly. I have seen/heard it mentioned MANY times in evening newscasts, to sports recap shows to practically everything. Many, many, many times. Off the top of my head probably 20 times that I remember, in family-centric viewing. I've never heard any other show referenced to like it.

BTW, I didn't say it was referenced as G-rated programming, but referenced in/during G-rated programming. To me this infers general acceptability by the masses. Myself, I may finish the series at some point. But it certainly isn't suitable for lower than adult audiences.

I knew you would say something so arbitrary. that's why I said I have nearly a decade's worth of time spent working in the industry. you always do this. "I disagree with what he's saying regardless of the points he's making so he's wrong". you do this in every conversation with literally everyone you argue with.

regardless of the 'g-rated' point, my point still stands. around these parts, New York City, GoT is NOT promoted so casually.

besides, you're Canadian. sexuality is viewed completely different over there. in Montreal they have that infamous stripper joint that's like a Walmart for crying out loud.

that's why I'm saying GoT is a poor example because it may apply as good example of raunch material specifically to you, but not the rest of the world. the Kardashians promote their trashiness on their own regardless of all other platforms that cover them.

Because we are no longer bound by religion.

Israel has a high birth rate because of religious arabs and jews, the educated jews arent having that many kids, which is completely unsustainable in the long term.
