I am looking forward to this build-up, honestly. There's so much drama that could be conjured up if the WWE and the writes remember their own history. This is how I would book this angle/feud and I will likely revert to using Bryan Danielson so I'll just keep it Danielson throughout because I will slip anyhow:

To me, the Miz should continue to talk about how Danielson keeps disrespecting him, even when Danielson wasn't wrestling. How Danielson was keeping him down as GM, sprinkling some kayfabe truth with alot of made up BS.The Miz should continue the angle of Danielson supposedly disrespecting him from the beginning and the Miz will not give Danielson the satisfaction of being a defeating him. This should continue without a match for a few months with the two doing talking segments and a few cheap shots to build to SummerSlam. I would like an old school build where they don't get to wrestle at all with no run ins until the beginning of July.

After a two month plus of build with the fans booing Miz about sour grapes and SS a month and a half away, the Miz brings up that the fans are like Danielson, ungrateful opportunists who all want shortcuts and forgets about who got them there. They, like Danielson, continue to bite the hand that feeds them that Miz has been here giving them great matches for 14 years while they cheer for Danielson. Miz tells the production truck to roll the footage showing the Miz being Danielson's pro when Danielson was just a "rookie", saying it was the Miz who helped train him, taught him the ropes, showed him what it meant to be a pro wrestler and gave him his first shot at a World Champion by booking him against the then champion, Chris Jericho in his debut. Danielson looks distraught and Miz rips into him again making Danielson feel a little bit of regret and maybe even remorse.

Miz tells Danielson to get out of HIS ring and Danielson looks to the crowd, looks at Miz, then gets ready to respond but decides not to and hangs his head and starts to leave the ring. As Danielson gets one leg over the middle rope, Miz kicks the second rope and then runs off the ropes and gives Danielson a shot to the back of the head/neck. He viciously attacks Danielson shouting obscenities about how ungrateful he is and how he will retire him again. Miz beats Danielson up, focusing on Danielson's head and neck. Miz removes a mat on the outside exposing the concrete hits his Reality Check neckbreaker on the exposed concrete. Danielson is lifeless and Miz pulls him up by the hair, spits on his face as he can barely stand and is having all of his weight supported by Miz's chest. Miz looks at the crowd and then gives Danielson the Skull Crushing Finale before causes the refs to separate them. A ref throws up the "X" and Miz looks at the ref, looks at the crowd, and before giving a prone and out Danielson a kick in the head for good measure and here we go on the build to SS.

Danielson will have to meet with numerous doctors who state that Danielson has suffered another concussion and neck injury with SS just a month and a half away. After two weeks of Danielson out of action and Miz coming out talking about the fan's injury prone wrestler doing what he does best, which is get injured Danielson comes out on week three to make an announcement. He gives another retirement speech, saying after 3 weeks, seeing numerous neurologists and specialist, he will have to retire again and this time for good as the doctors tell him another match and his career could be over. A teary eyed Danielson puts the mic on the floor, is about ready to take off his boots when Miz's music hits and he comes down the aisle with a mic in hand berating Danielson telling him he predicted this from the beginning.

Miz tells Danielson he predicted two years ago on Talking Smack that Danielson was doing just that, talking smack that he would never come back full time and would never get another title. Miz reminds Danielson about how he predicted Danielson would hurt himself again once he got in the ring with the Miz and that he would be relegated back to GM duties. He reiterates that Danielson is all talk, that he knew ahead of time Danielson didn't have the balls to fight the Miz even after the Miz came to SD looking for him. Again, the Miz tells Danielson to get out of his ring, that soft independent wannabe pro wrestlers do not deserve to share the ring with someone of his stature and greatness. Danielson, with mic in hand, decides to walk out of the ring, his head down and just as he is about to put his leg through the second rope (and the announcers telling Danielson not to and that we've seen this before, Danielson spins around to see a charging Miz and Danielson hits him dead on with the mic and beats the hell out of him before the Miz rolls out to the floor with and Danielson gets on the mic saying he accepts the challenge. That he will sign the contract, that he will defy doctor's orders and sign a waiver that the WWE is not accepting any responsibilities for what happens in the match. He states that he will rehab and he will come back in three weeks at SummerSlam wipe the mat with the Miz.

The following week, we have the contract signing with wrestlers in the ring to keep both men away from each other. Danielson signs the waiver and the contact as does the Miz and both do a staredown and the other wrestlers pull them apart and we are on to SS.

Hoping it's an I quit match at a big ppv but after they blew their load with some big match ups early last year I don't have much faith.

You posted this yesterday. So basically blowing their load early as usual
I don't mind that as much, once they don't do it on tv. Cena and Somoa Joe iirc were doing a house show loop too before they were set to feud.

However you want it to happen expect not to.

Was sent a clip of the video package for the Miz vs Danielson. I wish the storyline would’ve played out like I had it in my head but the video package was close and I’m glad the WWE didn’t forget their own history on this one

When one of the talents involved has asked "do you trust the WWE to tell this story as best as possible", what does that tell you?

This match should get color.
