First Official Trailer for 25th Bond Film NO TIME TO DIE Starring Daniel Craig

In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. Daniel Craig to Undergo Minor Ankle Surgery After Injury Filming Bond 25

f8WZKD1.jpg

Daniel Craig will undergo minor ankle surgery resulting from an injury sustained while filming the upcoming James Bond film.

"Production will continue whilst Craig is rehabilitating for two weeks post-surgery. The film remains on track for the same release date in April 2020," read a statement posted Wednesday on the franchise's official Twitter account. Bond producer Eon hadn't previously commented on reports of the injury.

The movie unveiled its cast in April. Rami Malek will portray the villain this time around, while Ben Whishaw will return as Q. Also, Lea Seydoux will reprise her role from 2015's Spectre as Dr. Madeleine Swann, Naomie Harris will return as Miss Moneypenny and Ralph Fiennes will be back as M.

Details of the plot revolve around how Bond is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica (where Craig was injured during filming) after leaving active service. But, naturally, his peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain (played by Malek) armed with dangerous new technology.

In addition to Jamaica, filming locations include Norway, Pinewood and London before finishing in Italy.

Producers on the film are Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, along with director Cary Joji Fukunaga.

This marks Craig's fifth time playing Bond, surpassing Pierce Brosnan's four films, but trailing Sean Connery and Roger Moore, who each played 007 in seven films.

Bond 25 is set to bow April 8, 2020 domestically through MGM's United Artists and Annapurna.

Cary Fukunaga's BOND 25 Cast Officially Revealed with Rami Malek to Play the Villain

E0Xxr06.jpg

In a special announcement on Thursday, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson together with director Cary Joji Fukanaga revealed who would be joining Daniel Craig in his fifth and final 007 outing, and teased elements of the plot, but didn't unveil a title.

Rami Malek, fresh from his Oscar-winning turn in Bohemian Rhapsody and rumoured as the main villain for some time, was official confirmed, alongside Lea Seydoux, reprising her role as Dr. Madelaine Swann from the previous Bond outing Spectre, plus Ben Whishaw who returns as Q, Ralph Fiennes as M and Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny. Also returning from Spectre are Jeffrey Wright and Rory Kinnear, while newcomers include Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049), Billy Magnussen (Game Night), Dali Benssalah, Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel) and David Dencik (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).

However, for those hoping for a title – the subject of much online speculation – Wilson said that this wasn't ready to announce, claiming that keeping it a secret was "a tradition."

Instead, fans were given details of the plot, which sees Bond having left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. But his peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Fukanaga said the locations would include Jamaica, Norway, where they have already shot, Pinewood and London before finishing in Italy.

Bond 25, from longstanding 007 gatekeeper and producer Eon, is being released in the U.S. on April 8, 2020 by Metro Goldwyn Mayer through its United Artists Releasing joint venture with Annapurna, and through Universal and MGM in the U.K. and internationally from April 3, 2020.

Rather than the usual press conference at the U.K.’s Pinewood Studios, considered 007’s spiritual home, the announcement was made via a live-stream from Jamaica, the scene for iconic titles including Dr. No and Live and Let Die and the home of Bond creator Ian Fleming's Goldeneye villa. Most of the cast were in attendance, with the exception of Malek, who recorded a message from New York.

"I promise you all I will be making sure Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride of it in this, his 25th outing," he said.

The film has already been through more ups and downs than most Bond titles.

Trainspotting director Danny Boyle was originally set to helm from a script he had put together with his long-standing collaborator John Hodge. But they parted ways with Eon over “creative differences” and Fukunaga was announced in late 2018, with regular Bond scribes Neil Purvis and Robert Wade having returned to the writing team, later joined by The Bourne Ultimatum's Scott Z. Burns. Just last month, reports emerged that Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge had been brought on board to liven up the script. Waller-Bridge's involvement was confirmed by Wilson.

The various changes have seen the release of the film — which has already begun some pre-production work in Italy, Norway and Jamaica, and at its regular base at Pinewood — get pushed back several from late 2019 to February 2020 and now April 2020.

Next James Bond Movie Set for 2019; Daniel Craig Not Included in Announcement

nCmSrKX.png

007 will be back in 2019. The next installment in the James Bond franchise has set a release date of Nov. 8, 2019. This will be the 25th installment in the long-running series.

Daniel Craig, who has held a license to kill since first playing Bond in 2006's Casino Royale, has not been announced as being back as the British Secret Service agent, with EON Productions and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer saying casting will be announced at a later date. A director has also not been revealed (Sam Mendes helmed the previous two installments).

The script is coming from Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who worked on Craig's four Bond films: Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.

While the date is set, many other things about Bond 25 remain unclear. MGM and EON have no U.S. studio partner on the movie and are in secret talks with several contenders after its four-picture deal with Sony expired with Spectre. Sources say Sony and Warner Bros. are vying for the rights.

It is also unclear whether Craig will return. The actor has spoken disdainfully about continuing as Bond in the past, but more recent rumors have painted a more softened tone from the actor. Among the stars who have been seen as waiting in the wings to take on the role should Craig retire include Idris Elba, Tim Hiddleston, Damien Lewis, Tom Hardy and The Hobbit actor Aidan Turner.

The franchise has been very successful with Craig in the starring role. 2012's Skyfall earned $1.1 billion, while 2015's Spectre earned $880 million.

Bond 25 will be produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. It is set to open the same day as an untitled Disney fairy tale movie.

Comments: Michael Fassbender or Aidan Turner would be my choices for the next James Bond. Bah, who needs 007 when you have Kingsman.

Rumor: Aidan Turner to Be Announced as Next James Bond According to Bookies

QuDZXY9.png

Poldark star Aidan Turner is now the hot favourite to be announced as the next James Bond .

Fans are predicting the 32-year-old could soon leave behind Cornwall's tin mines for the slick world of international espionage as they put their money on him to replace Daniel Craig . Although Craig has not yet confirmed he is leaving the role , Ladbrokes are reporting that Turner is now front-runner to be cast as 007, with odds at 1-2 after a big weekend of betting.

The Night Manager star Tom Hiddleston trails behind in second with odds of 2-1, with Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill and Damian Lewis making up the rest of the list.

Ladbrokes spokesman Jessica Bridge said: "Money talks, and it's the Poldark man that punters want as their next Bond. "Turner's been shaking and stirring the betting for the last week and it's not a huge surprise to see he's been backed into odds-on."

The Irishman is no stranger to big franchises, having starred as dwarf Kili in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy.

Comments: After seeing him in the miniseries 'And Then There Were None' last January, Aidan Turner is my No. 1 choice to play Namor the Submariner. I also approve of him as Bond.

SPECTRE and SKYFALL Director Sam Mendes Will Not Return for BOND 25

XTrAjYm.jpg

Sam Mendes is finished with James Bond. The acclaimed British director of Skyfall and Spectre said Saturday he will not direct the next installment in the popular spy series.

"It was an incredible adventure, I loved every second of it," Mendes said of his five years working on the thriller franchise. "But I think it's time for somebody else."

Mendes revealed his plans to step down from the series to an audience at the Hay Festival of literature in Wales. A former theatre director whose films include the Oscar-winner American Beauty and the somber Revolutionary Road, Mendes said he hoped the next Bond director would come from an "unexpected direction," just as he had.

Mendes himself indicated a desire to work on something fresh. "I'm a storyteller. And at the end of the day, I want to make stories with new characters," he said.

Mendes' announcement clarifies that he won't direct the next film, but it's not yet clear if Daniel Craig will return for a fifth turn as 007.

Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba are among his rumored replacements. Both are popular with moviegoers, but Mendes said lobbying by fans is pointless because the decision will be made solely by the series' producer, Barbara Broccoli.

"It's not a democracy ... Barbara Broccoli decides who is going to be the next Bond, end of story," he said.

Mendes said that worked out well when Broccoli chose Craig, a little-known actor, for the key role at a time when he had "zero" support from fans. Many fans now consider Craig's portrayal of the suave spy as having revitalized the Bond series.

Tom Hiddleston Reportedly in Advanced Talks to Play James Bond

Squg8bG.jpg

Sources close to Tom Hiddleston have told Birth.Movies.Death. that Tom Hiddleston is in fact in advanced talks to take over the role of James Bond from Daniel Craig.

Choosing words carefully, BMD's source confirms that while talks have indeed taken place, and that Hiddleston very much wants the job (a fact of which he’s made no secret), no official offer has been made - yet.

There are a couple ways to parse this news. One is to take it at face value: Daniel Craig is out, the role of 007 is open, and it may very well be Hiddleston’s for the taking. Another is to apply the lessons Vincent Chase and Ari Gold taught us back on Entourage: Eon might be talking to other actors in an attempt to catalyze a response from Craig. If it’s the latter, c'est la guerre. If it’s the former, BMD's source is for the first time confirming what’s been, until now, nothing but tabloid rumor-mongering.

It’s also worth noting that if cast, Hiddleston would be the first Bond actor who shares an educational background with both the literary 007 and Ian Fleming himself: all three attended Eton College in their respective youths.

Exclusive: Tom Hiddleston Confirmed to Be in Talks for BOND 25

Comments: Those that immediately dismiss Hiddleston due to the fact that he played Loki should watch the actor in The Night Manager or High-Rise.

Jamie Bell Reportedly in Talks with BOND Producer to Play 007

xcSbcvV.jpg

He got his big break as unlikely ballet dancer Billy Elliot. And 16 years on, Jamie Bell's career could be heading in an entirely new direction as a new report claims the British actor is in talks to replace Daniel Craig in the James Bond franchise.

Jamie, 30, has met with Bond boss Barbara Broccoli and producers to discuss the coveted part, according to The Sun. [Deadline has also confirmed that talks between Bell and Broccoli are true.]

Broccoli, who has been producing the Bond films for twenty years, is behind Jamie's new movie Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool, and is said to have been impressed with his skills.

'Barbara has been a fan of Jamie for a long time and has even thought about him playing another role in the franchise before,' an insider has told The Sun. 'Everyone remembers Jamie as the little boy in Billy Elliot, but he's now got some serious roles under his belt.'

From ballet to Bond? Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell 'in talks with producers to replace Daniel Craig as 007'

Comments: I'm a fan of the actor. His AMC show Turn: Washington Spies is criminally underseen by the public. The problem is he's a bit short for the role. He's 5'7" but still looks shorter on screen.

For those who didn't know this, he was once married to Evan Rachel Wood. He's currently dating his Fantastic Four co-star Kate Mara.

Rumor: Daniel Craig Turns Down £68 Million Offer to Return as Bond; Tom Hiddleston Possibly the Next 007?

QYUVbWX.jpg

Daniel Craig has told studio bosses he is ‘done’ playing 007, sources claim. The news comes just days after bookmakers called off bets on Cambridge-educated Tom Hiddleston becoming the next James Bond.

Insiders said Craig turned down a £68 million offer from MGM studio to return as Bond for two more films following last year’s hit Spectre. The sum included endorsements, profit shares, and a role for him working as a co-producer.

One LA film source said: ‘Daniel is done – pure and simple – he told top brass at MGM after Spectre. They threw huge amounts of money at him, but it just wasn’t what he wanted.’

He added: ‘He had told people after shooting that this would be his final outing, but the film company still felt he could come around after Spectre if he was offered a money deal.’

One source said that executives had finally agreed to let the actor go after growing tired of his criticism of the franchise.

Rumor: Daniel Craig Won't Be Coming Back to Play James Bond

AvPxIly.jpg

It seems Daniel Craig has fired his last Walther PPK as James Bond. At least that’s according to his good friend, actor Mark Strong. While chatting with ShortList to promote upcoming comedy Grimsby, Strong mentioned dropped the ultimate Bond bombshell.

Strong said: “Do you know what, I’d have loved to have played the villain in a Bond movie while Daniel was doing it because he’s a pal and that would have been great. But I think he’s come to the end of his Bond time and so it’s probably never going to happen, but that would have always been great.

“Having played so many villains, it would have been wonderful to have done the villain of villains, if you like. Because a Bond villain has a status all of his own.”

ShortList asked Strong if he could talk Craig into donning that iconic tuxedo one more time, but the beloved character actor felt such a move was unlikely, adding: “Well, I will try, believe me, I will do my best. But there are powers at work greater than us who make all these decisions.”

Such a move would see Craig quit the role despite being contracted to one more outing as 007 – Strong agreed that his friend had indeed been a wonderful Bond. “He has been [wonderful] and he’s loved it. But I think he feels like he’s mined it. He’s done what he wants with it. That point has come.”

EXCLUSIVE: Daniel Craig Has Quit as Bond, According to His Friend Mark Strong

No sense in making more Bond movies with Craig if he's not interested in playing the character.

There are enough bad performances out there when people actually do care about what they are doing.

Give him two years. He will miss it. No good roles will come. He needs the money.

Craig was too white to be Bond anyway

These movies suck. Overblown retarded pseudo-comic book movies. The chase from Casino Royale was probably the best scene, and it was the opening of the first one.

If they made a real spy movie and had Michael Mann or somebody like that direct, then it would be worth speculating who could play Bond. And Elba or Fassbender etc. would be great.

As it stands, it's a money-making machine in a very bad dumbed-down era for action movies, so who gives a flying fuck who they choose. If anything, pick a mediocre actor so we don't have to have a great one tied up in this glossy shit for years.

Good, he's so boring. Only liked Casino Royale. All the others after that were mostly a snooze, imo.

I completly agree. The lines "that last hand almost killed me" and "A little to the left I have an itch" are classic.

The other movies were meh.

Hell yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope to god that ugly fucker doesnt come back he has ruined Bond because he is charmless ugly short and nowhere near as cool as any of the other Bond actors. He has to fuckin lift weights to be cool because he lacks any social skills and hes so full of himself its pathetic. He talks like he hates being Bond but the fucker didnt have much of a career and should lick Cubbys nasty daughters ass for giving him the part.
Bond movies are my favorite I been a fan since the 80s but when this little prick came along with his scowling and puckered lips it made me want to puke. He ended the fun Bonds they are no longer fun after decades.
Dont let the door hit you on the way out you little :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:.

Well there are plenty of "real" spy thrillers being made, Bridge of Spies probably being the most recent. But I agree with you in that it'd be nice to see the kind of budget a Bond film gets devoted to something more cerebral and realistic.
