Black off duty cop arrives on scene to help out fellow officers already there. Then another white cop shows up assumes off duty cop is trouble maker, and shoots him in the arm.

Quote from article

“In the police report, you have so far, there is no description of threat he received,” Tate told the New York Daily News. “So we have a real problem with that. But this has been a national discussion for the past two years. There is this perception that a black man is automatically feared.”

What a disaster. We need to privatize the police

Story:

Cops in pursuit of stolen car, criminals in car begin firing on pursuing officers until they back off. Spike-strip leads to car crash and suspects attempt to flee. Cops shoot one of three at this time.

Off-duty officer in street clothing lives on same street, hears crash, comes out of house with gun in hand. No officers on scene recognize him immediately, as it is dark and approaching midnight, and yell at him to get on the ground. He complies.

Cops figure out who he is, tell him to get up and come over.

Late arriving cop who knows there has been shooting shows up just in time to see man in street clothes with gun in hand walking toward officers in uniform, and shoots him.

7 cops placed on administrative leave. 1 suspect escaped. 2 suspects charged with 31 felonies, plus other charges.

The story is crap, but there is no race angle here. At least, no legitimate race angle.

It sure looks like a race thing. He showed up on scene with no additional knowledge and assumed that a black man was an immediate threat to his life. He didnt care that no o e else was bothered.

He didnt tell him to get on the ground, like the cops who had actually been in a gunfight did right before.

He saw black, and he opened fire without warning. Thats your angle.

This is my only concern with open carry. If I have a gun and try and help out the cops or help someone being violated, is another open carry person going to see me and shoot me thinking im a bad guy.

This would be Huge news if an on-duty cop accidentally shot an off-duty white cop walking around holding a gun in street clothes. Big news. Widely reported. Very important questions each American must ask themselves while gazing deep into their soul.

Yeah... Zero racial component.

just so happens he shot at what looked exactly like the paper targets his precinct provides for him.

He showed up when fire had been exchanged multiple times with suspects in positions unknown, and saw an armed man in street clothes moving toward officers.

The "Black" angle is simple projection to match the preconceived notion desired. Cops get shot by other cops all the time, even when they are all white.

And so on. But don't let reality interfere with the narrative.

I agree this is more of a piss poor training/communication issue and not race. The officer who fired should lose his job for incompetence.

True Story - The Policeman in question, if you see his high school yearbook photo, in the quotation under his name it says "Not to sound paranoid, b- WHO SAID THAT?!"

This is how reporting should be delivered on msm.
