Bill O'reilly Gets Last Laugh On FOX News And Rachael Maddow Takes First For First Time

Well look at this ever since Fox let go of Bill O'reilly and lost Greta and Megyn Kelly FOX has been getting clobbered with sex gate. Even Sean Hannity seen the handwriting on the wall. To say FOX News is tumbling would be an understatement they just squeaked by CNN to grab number two spot and in the younger demographic they are getting clobbered by both CNN and MSNBC.

For the week of May 15, MSNBC averaged 2.44 million viewers with 611,000 in the key demo from 8 p.m.-11 p.m., beating out CNN and Fox News in both measures. In total day viewership for the week, CNN has ranked number one in cable news among adults 25-54 for six straight days (May 14-19), marking the network’s longest winning streak in that measure in six years. Fox News finished first in total viewers with 1.5 million and second in the demo with 321,000. MSNBC was second in total viewers with 1.2 million total viewers and third in the demo with 281,000. CNN finished third in total viewers with 1.05 million but first in the demo with 353,000.

In addition, Fox News ranked number three in primetime in the key demographic for five straight days with 497,000 viewers, the longest streak at number three the network has had in that measure in 17 years, since June 2000. CNN finished second in the demo with 588,000. Fox was second in total viewers, however, with 2.41 million, beating out CNN’s 1.65 million.

The other thing is that people on the right are realizing that Republicans are going to only dump piles of tax breaks to the richest 1 percent and that they will end up with the bill. People are less likely to listen to what FOX is peddling.

I don't think he is sulking in the basement somewhere in Connecticut he is likely going the Glen Beck route and starting his own media empire. This is the thing FOX is facing the same problem that liberal media was facing spreading out the viewers across more networks. FOX once biggest properties have now moved and FOX is having a difficult time trying to reboot their media empire faced with more competition. Glen Beck was the first likely to realize he could make a dent in their rating even having talked about having an impact even a small one.

O'Reilly doesn't strike me as a guy who would have the energy for that. I think he'll just go quietly into the night and fade into Bolivian.

In 2016 fox shifted dramatically to the left. The presidential election I believe held ratings up. I found myself, a long time fox viewer, shifting to random news stations because shepherd smith and Megyn kelly should be on CNN or some other station that's left leaning....but pretends that they're not.

Orielly remained, and my viewership was funneled into his show. Once he was fired, there wasn't anyone left at Fox News.

They drove their base away trying to appease people who will never tune into fox, ever, by pushing pundits and anchors who should be CNN.

Fox has always had the rep of being the channel for conservatives. But over the past year they have exposed themselves as being a channel for the republican party and corporate establishment agenda rather then any true conservative/libertarian views. They became outright hostile to grass roots conservatives.

Therefore right leaning informed viewers realized there's no reason to watch...and stopped.

The equivalent of a North Korean TV show called "Capitalism Today" that just consists of a guy in a monopoly costume cracking a whip at the camera. Fox's schtick was having a bunch of pro-immigration, pro-interventionism McCain types mention God and hot dogs. Liberals got a real thrill sitting there clapping at the charade.

A network that never represented our beliefs on a dying format.

Breitbart's website is decorated with the Star of David. They have a permanent branch in Jerusalem covering pro-Jewish/Israeli issues. They loathe socialist economies. Their staff is more 'diverse' than that of the Huffington Post by every metric. While none of these things matter to me or indicate their value as a news source, they make Nazi conspiracy theories seem pretty far-fetched.
