Betting Questions

Thank you very much for the reply,

I've read extremely bad reviews on

Bet365: https://ca.trustpilot.com/review/www.bet365.com

On the other hand, I've read pretty good reviews Betway.

What's your take on this? Thank you.

No truth to any of the few posts I read in that link except that they can be quick to limit if you're winning big money. I don't have experience with Betway myself but think they're on the lower end of quality sportsbooks.

Thanks again. What do you mean by 'quick to limit if you're winning big money'? what are they limiting? what is considered big money?

WTF is going on with Bookmaker? Can't login and other people are saying the same.

Some books will set a cap on how much money you can place on a bet if they recognize you as a long term winner. The definition of big money varies, with bet365 if you're winning 5-10k regularly they'll limit your account.

Thanks for all this info. Bet365 seems great but I have trouble seeing past so many negative reviews. They have 1 star on 10. How long have you been betting on Bet365? Have you encountered any problems with them?

The only reason bet365 gets bad reviews is because they limit winners. That's just the way they operate, but people lose their minds when it happens. In my opinion they are the best site there is, especially for recreational bettors. I'd suggest playing with them until they cut you off and then move on. There are tonnes of other options for Canadians, but you might as well enjoy the best site there is while you can. I've been limited with 365 but still live bet with the tiny limits I'm given because their mma live betting is that good. (And beatable).

Pinnacle is the best site to use if betting high stakes because they have the tightest odds, allow very high stakes and never limit you. They have way less betting options though. Just moneyline and over/unders for mma.

Thanks for the info. Thoughts on Betway?

I haven't used them, but I definitely will if they ever offer live mma betting. If you're looking to bet mma I can't stress enough how good it is to be able to bet mma live.

dude i don't even know anymore.. my last deposit was made in early 2015.. i have taken a ton of payouts since then, usually via moneygram.. but at the start of 2017 i started making BTC withdrawals until they cut me off from them and labeled me a "BTC" abuser

long story short, after NUMEROUS phonecalls, emails, etc.. they have agreed to let me take $ out via checks instead of just moneygram. so far, so good. got my first one last week within 3 days of request.

if i was to deposit again, i would do it via moneygram, in all likelihood... but i can't speak to whether or not that's the best option. if you do bitcoin stuff and/or plan to request bitcoin payouts, i'd ask them if you could become bitcoin exclusive and deposit that way. but get something in writing is my advice if you do so, cause of the crap i've had to deal with

Their rule is that you have to make 4 straight btc deposits to become btc exclusive. I'm in the same boat as you that I'm not eligible because I haven't deposited in years. I get my btc requests rejected probably 50% of the time, but I have access to check withdrawals as well so it's no big deal. I figure that their btc policy is to prevent people treating the site like a btc exchange which is not unreasonable.

when you say bet mma live, you mean betting between rounds or between fights? Could you break some live betting strategies?

I keep finding myself tempted to parlay big favorites on these cards. Usually 2 or 3 leg parlays. Probably motivated by being too risk averse to bet them straight, which my instincts tell me is a bad thing. Is this a terrible strategy? What about round robins? For example, I want to parlay JJ and Ion this weekend, maybe add Blaydes as well. Would I be better off doing a round robin over a parlay? Or should I forget parlays and RRs and bet them straight?

I asked a similar question in a different thread, so forgive my newbness, but will you please give me your general thoughts on parlays and round robins? I keep finding myself wanting to parlay heavy favorites.

There's no difference between parlays and straights. yet people bet things in parlays that they wouldn't bet straight.

There's nothing wrong with a parlay.

The only thing that's wrong is betting a line in one and not the other.

Thank you. That actually really does make me look at it differently.

Fade this bro for sure

Not sure if this is the appropriate place for this but I've been curious (though unfortunately not an issue I've dealt with yet).

Are there any risks involved in large withdrawals from online betting? Say I won $15k in a 12-leg parlay I threw in for fun. Would such a thing be flagged and investigated? Or would it fall under the murky bitcoin transfer laws? Would there be any tax implications with that?

Sorry for not reading the whole thread, but could you elaborate on the last sentence? In what sense is the line "wrong"? I mean, I believe I get it, but I'd like to have a surer understanding.

Sometimes (often) people say "that's parlay material" which is a nonsensical statement, if you don't factor in bet sizing limitations.

If it's good enough to bet in a parlay, it's good enough to bet straight up. Cause it's the same bet either way.

If you bet two -400 guys together in a parlay, you're just doing -400 on one guy, and if he wins, you're doing the 100 again plus the winnings on the other guy straight again.. it doesn't change the math

"I won't bet it straight but I'll parlay it" USUALLY means that someone is tricking himself into liking a line more than he does. The bookies prey on this.
