Betting Questions

@EzFlyer @JimGunn other Murricans:

I'm kind of sketched out about 5d and don't want to deposit anymore $ there rn, want to re up on bm since my funds are low there atm, or make my first deposite on bol, which one do you guys trust more?

I haven't used bol yet, have an account but haven't really looked at the site much. I know bm has better boxing lines for the most part, I trust them, but if bol is a better option I'm willing to put some $ in there as well,as long as they're reliable, obv.

BM has a waaay longer history and an impeccable record. They have the best limits, the best interface, the best customer service, etc. Only thing I can complain about is they will take away your BetPoints (a promo where you get cash rewards for betting) if you make too much money.

BoL is a baby by comparison, too lazy to check but I don't think it's been around more than 5 years.

5Dimes is a pain in my ass and I can't recommend it to anyone playing with real money. ($500 average bet or higher). If you're purely recreational and a small player it's probably fine. In fact, 5Dimes can be considered better for small players because they offer all kinds of cool props.

bt has been around a while and has been using 5d -- I agree, bookmaker is more established & is THE option for highrollers. I won like 54,000 there during the ufc live betting era and still am welcome there.

But if you're doing small action, betonline has been pretty reliable and also has better prices/juice on most things. They're consistently the same prices as dines reduced lines for tennis bets, for example.. and better for spreads and whatnot

Yeah I've been betting for many years, just never got around to joining other books until recently. I like bm, Ez you have a great story about how cool/lax bm is on payouts. I like bm but was just wondering if bol was worth putting money into a third book or just put more on the former. I have most of my funds still on 5d but it's not enough to worry about, won't affect my life if for some reason it disappears or I can't get a payout. But I just don't want to put anymore on dimes atm.

Thanks both @EzFlyer and @waiguoren. Might just throw a something on both and work it out. Handling three books at once is tough since I'm so used to my br being in one or two places and I suck at math lol but definitely open to it. Gotta expand so I can shop more lines anyway.

Out of interest I would like to know what the finish rate per weight class is, in the UFC.

Is there any website where I can find stats like that?

For example I feel that light heavyweight fights more often do not go the distance in comparison to fights in other weight classes.

I don't believe that info would be much helpful or relevant in regards to making bets, it's just something I'd like to know (and I am obviously too lazy to go through Wikipedia and count that shit myself :D)

Edit: btw, for how long will it say "White Belt" over my avatar? How does one get promoted?

I believe fightonomics is what you're looking for. And your belt level changes once you hit a certain amount of posts

Can UFC ppv's be bought in Estonia with UFC app?

not 100% sure but I watched the fight pass prelims when I was there like 2 months ago, so I would of thought you can. their internet is amongst the best in the world so if you can you'll be able to watch in glorious HD

you going to tallinn?

No, the countryside. Nunes-Shevchenko just screams live betting, but if some Estonian tv-channel has the rights for main card, it will be black-out over there in the app.

ahh, I don't remember tbh I just watched on streams, but I don't think they show it on tv. worst case: if you find a fast stream LB is still possible though

What are Betsafe like for withdrawals? I'm guessing I should leave the welcome bonus well alone if I want to withdraw immediately?

never had any problems with them as far as withdrawals, paypal is a good option for them too. can't you just wager the welcome bonus straight away or you need to rollover a few times? I hear they have LB for mma now so is should be easy to rollover this weekend!

all in all probably my favourite bookmaker, great prices for mma, decent limits(comparatively for me at least), opening lines for mma, and last year they gave me £500 for their anniversary giveaway! I know other ppl ITT like them too.

That's good to hear.

I'm more of a casual bettor (atm anyway), I just wouldn't bet enough to meet the wagering requirements. 2 main reasons I want to sign up with them; to hit those fantastic opening lines for mma, and to take advantage of a nice arbing opportunity this weekend.

On that last subject, am I being a bit naive max betting my limits on other books on a line I want to arb? Obviously I want to flag up as little suspicion as possible when doing this.

yeah just decline the welcome offer then, what are the rollover requirements? using welcome offers to guarantee profit via matched betting is dangerous also, and a LOT more so if you do every single offer(free bets and the like) with the intention of guaranteeing profit. even if your not guaranteeing profit with these offers it can still be risky

RE arbing: max betting value lines to arb can raise a lot of suspicion, maybe change the amounts you wager on these lines to make it seem more random, like 1 time do half the limit, then nearly max then a little one etc. mixing in other bets you want to make where the line is in conjunction with other books or even a little lower could be an idea. don't do it on every arb opportunity you see also. you don't even have to want bet on one of these "dummy bets" either, you could hedge on the exchange for a tiny loss. mixing sports is a good idea too.

maybe instead of straight arbing you can take lines that are likely too shorten before they do by looking at the average odds on other sites and then hedging for profit at a later date.

a big thing to be wary of is knowing which books fall under the same company, because if one of them limits you then the sister sites are a lot more likely to do this also.
spread the arbs around different sites while incorporating other ways that might make you go under the radar. this is an area of betting where paranoia is usually a good thing. some books like betbright for example will be a lot more trigger happy gubbing your account (limiting) or even banning you completely compared to one like betsafe or bet365.

none of these are guaranteed ways to avoid being flagged but often they can help, it can seem fairly arbitrary (no pun intended) at times as to the circumstances behind account bans or gubbing's. there's a lot of any other ways that might help to go unnoticed also and I'm sure you can think of a few.

are you arbing by hedging on an exchange or just other books btw?

It's a straight up sportsbook arb (the one I mentioned in the official event thread). Haven't moved on to the exchanges yet.

The line in question has only moved on one of my books and I'm guessing that's because of the bomb I dropped on it lol.

As a noob bettor greed often dictates your play and it's another lesson for me that discipline has to play a part in arbing as well as br management.

JW, and I'm sure this has been discussed before, but why does Bovada seem so frowned upon around here? Only problem I've noticed is that they really take a while to put their lines out (or is that why?)

I generally get btc withdrawals within 24 hrs despite estimates of 72 hrs, never had an issue with that.

No experience with Bovada. People just love 5d cuz props are da best.

bovada historically has been extremely slow w/payouts. i remember one that took a few months. but it's been a few years.

basically, they're...
-high juice
-late line availability
-limited options

short of the way 5dimes limits you and the way bookmaker DOESN'T limit you, yea, i don't see a reason to use bovada

I've only taken payouts via BTC, which I think they only started doing last year. First time it took a few days as they need to verify your identity, since then it's taken under 24 hrs every time for me. I'd imagine their check mailing is slow if you take that route, though.

The late lines are annoying for me. They don't even have lines open for their props on TUF finale yet, and don't let you parlay props. Other than that I don't have an issue with them.

I have a few questions about Williamhill.
-do they send any letters on your adress?
-can you create internet account in stationary point?
-is the ufc different in stationary and net, because when they had it online they didn't have it at stationar point.Account is used in both stationary and online?

you can opt not to receive letters at your address when you sign up to make an account, if you already have one you can change it in the account settings somewhere, or ask on live chat alternatively.

I guess by stationary you mean at a Williamhills shop? in that case, no you don't need an account to bet in the shop but you need one online to bet.
