While all of these movies are classics to me... I personally have to go with Full Metal Jacket.
I love the whole transition from bootcamp to the war itself, and not to mention it is a very quotable movie and is one of the funnest films ever imo...

I fucking love Heartbreak Ridge, but it's almost a comedy. I don't view it as a work of art like FMJ or Platoon or Apocalypse Now.

Sad M*A*S*H and Dirty Dozen don't get nods, but seeing as how M*A*S*H is more known for the TV series and Dirty Dozen had 3 very lesser sequels and it was more an ensemble piece with lots of comedic timing.
