I'm was to buy a few thousand rounds of 9mm and a thousand rounds 7.62-168gr over gunbroker.

Good place to buy guns, but I've heard mixed opinions as to the seller's accuracy of descriptions for ammo.

But, just before I pull the trigger on the purchase, I thought to double-check with you guys as to which website do you usually go to to order bulk amounts of ammunition?

I always prefer bulk ammo purchases in person.

THAT said, Midway has never steered me wrong. Ordered a fair chunk of 5.56 Green Tip from them, like 450 rounds and it came in a nice metal ammo can and everything.

Cabelas has bulk ammo too.

The key difference I have noticed is Midway it comes in a metal can and the ammunition is in boxes INSIDE the can but it seems the Cabelas one the rounds are loose in the can and the can is weathertight but plastic.

I've had good luck with ammo to go, I avoid Cdt like the place because they are a bunch of panic gougers.

Palmetto state armory is who I've used lately.

I've also used bulkammo.com, ammotogo.com, sgammo.com, surplusammo.com, ammosupplywarehouse.com, ableammo.com and some others I've forgot. I personally had good experiences with all.

Bingo. That's $1 a box less than I was about to purchase yesterday.

I'm gonna jump on that, and pick up some M1A ammo as well, $2 per box less than I was expecting on buying.

I was about to order right now, but for some reason my email isn't registering on their sales form. Guess I'll call in the morning and place the order over the phone.

Guys, thanks for all the suggestions, and I've bookmarked all the sites listed here to check out often in case a great deal comes up. Thanks!

I know you want 168 because of the bdc but here is .308 147gr at $.50 a round and free shipping after 200 rounds. The difference in drop isn't that much. At 200 yards you are talking less than an inch, 300 less than 2", 400 3.5", 500 5.5". This was according to a quick look at a ballistics calculator. The 147 is less drop so you would just aim slightly lower. 168 would be better for you but I just wanted to give you the option because of the good price.

Yeah no problem man, I actually found some for 9.99 a box but if you are buying 1k or more the free shipping is definitely the better deal at 10.99. I'll post it anyway since you haven't made the purchase yet.

Cool..... when I talk to them tomorrow, I'll try to negotiate for free shipping if I offer to buy 1500 rounds.

I haven't shot my glock34 in a few years and need to get back in the groove with some drills.

Every once in awhile Midway does a sale on the purple cased LEA training 55 grain .223 stuff and it's DIRT fucking cheap... comes out to like $.15 a round or something ridiculous like that.

Just made my orders...

1500 rounds for $329.70 (Free shipping)

http://palmettostatearmory.com/magtech-7-62x51mm-147gr-fmj-m80-ammunition-50rds-762a.html
500 rounds for $250.00

http://palmettostatearmory.com/federal-ae-7-62x51-m1a-168gr-otm-20rd-box.html
800 rounds (Most allowable in one order) for $719.60

Shipping for the 7.62 rounds didn't eat me alive, around $50 to Kansas.

Nice buys.

That magtech is great for practice and plinking.
