what would you recommend? steak? chicken? what will give me the most performance the next day? i weigh in at 7 pm tonight and have all night to eat, and morning, but i think there was another thread about what to eat the morning of the tournament. i haven't weighed in the night before ever, usually at this point im starving myself until the morning.

well i don't know what's BEST to eat,but last time i weighed in the day before i went and ate a big ass steak afterwords..because i was very hungry and limiting red meat for my diet.

May not have been the best for my physically, but it was a damn good steak, and was very good for me mentally :p

No, usually the morning of the tournament...some of them are right before the match though.

And cutting weight and dieting to lose weight are two different things...

the usual diet of lean meats, whole grains and plenty of veggies will do you well, just make sure to take in alot more complex carbs (multigrain pasta, oatmeal, etc) than you normally would

if you get hungry, carb up
    bananas = awesome for pre-tourny
    have you competed before?
just make sure not to over-do it before your matches and you'll be fine

i've never had a tourny take long enough for me to need to eat during it, but pre-tourny i like gatorade and granola-based energy bars, as well as my multi-vitamin
food never tastes so good as when you're wearing a gold medal, eating it with a big shit eating grin on your face and you havn't eaten anything significant in the past 2 days

definitely... i love to indulge in as much junk food as possible after a gold. there arent many times when i allow myself to do so but a gold deserves it.

abit diff for me, i eat alot of "dirty" food, as I'm 135 lbs and simply maintaining this weight while training as much as i do means i need alot of calories to keep up
so to eat salads and clean foods for a couple days really sucks when I'm used to greasy cheeseburgers and KD
i know i should just eat more clean food rather than eat the crap that I do, but A) it's delicious and B) more often than not it's cheaper to eat dirty foods

Eat and drink WATER/Pedialite(if you have any) Each half an hour after weigh ins and the next day before you fight.

    Apples - lots of em
    Nutribars
    Bananas
    Oatmeals
Cheerios - No Milk please lol
    Veggies if you want

throw a little bit of protein in there the next morning. have about 3-4 egg whites and put some cottage cheese on it.

shit like that. lots of water tho.

Then my friend. After the tournament. Go to the pub, grab some wings, pizza and delicious beer. :icon_chee
