Anyone got any good recommendations?
Versus is underrated
All shit. They killed real music.
Alice in Chains.
I've gone through phases where I was into all of them.
Currently id have to say Pearl Jam
Best 90s bands:
1.Pearl Jam. The haters don't get them because they judge them on hits they don't care for. Band still makes albums and sells out tours never does same set in a row. Insane live show.
3. Stone Temple Pilots
4. Alice In Chains
6. Smashing Pumpkins
7. Janes Addiction
9. Screaming Trees
10. Collective Soul
Does Primus count as grunge?
Pearl jam by far
A lot of these weren't grunge.
But any one of those in @I Am Legion's post are great, especially Jane's, AIC, Smashing Pumpkins, and even Hole's first album.
"Grunge" was a label slapped on many popular bands in the early 90's that didn't really want it. It was really just a way of marketing new music to a specific demographic. That said, the very best album that was labelled as "Grunge" (even though they didn't consider themselves that) was this one:
Aside from all the usuals, I also liked Ugly Kid Joe a lot. They were kind of metal-grunge, but for some reason I still throw them into the mix because AiC were pretty metal, as well.
My Bloody Valentine
Nirvana - Nevermind
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Soundgarden - Superunknown
This probably was the defining, greatest grunge album of all time.
Them and Nirvana. Tho I'm sure both bands loathe the 'grunge' title.
one of my all time favorites.
Corrosion of conformity
