They didn't have the money to pay him. Spike was giving Bjorn literally peanuts to run Bellator cause they wanted Bjorn gone.

His only other choice really besides One Fc would've been to take WSOF deal and after a fight or two the UFC would've scooped him up. He just didn't want to be a pawn in the Spike excs vs Dana/UFC pissing match at the time. Hard to blame Askren for taking the One FC contract with all things considered. Though I wish he would've got some type of 2 year out clause or something in it so he could have choice of leaving.

Probably loses almost all U.S. interest. Its weird they went after him with as much money as they did though considering they've shown no signs of trying to break into the U.S market

Sure he does. People need to realize there is no best at WW out there. Its a weight class full of specialist where it's all about styles. The promoter can line things up to give who they want the best chance of being champ. There is no Mighty Mouse or Jon Jones in the world when it comes to 170lbs

Woodley would get outwrestled.....Askren is literally the wrestling coach at the gym they both train at.(hence Askren saying he wouldn't ever fight woodley they are very close friends.)

Askren is no doubt a top WW in the world we all pride ourselves in analyzing talent and its clear he is a very tough outing for anyone at 170.

He never signed to Ufc and didn't return to Bellator cuz Bjorn and dana were calling his style boring and no one wanted to pay him except ONE.

Dana could have gotten him but wouldn't even negotiate so he fucked up.

He evolved into a nasty GNP fighter destroying ppl id watch Askren fights over Woodley fights anyday.

In the end hes going to retire undefeated with a huge bankroll in the prime of his life in good health with lucrative jobs lined up.....

He may have fought some second tier talent but he could do what he did to all the mid tier WWs in any organization...most likely most of the top ten as well.
