Possibly. This is the problem with dealing with crazy people. Who knows what would work?

Not you. Not me. Not Ben. Not Dana.

This. He's right about Dana... but this is like if Chuck Liddell started talking about Luke Rockhold's chin

Askren is a sharp guy and doesn't seem to be willing to take shit. I respect that.

I think at this point does it really matter what he says? He is trying to create buzz to get a GSP fight. How would it help for him to be ball-guzzling Dana at this point?

Better to come off the heel and frankly Dana bashing is pretty easy to do

...but why would he even want to be in the ufc? he's done quite well for himself... and in terms of 'still having something to prove,' bellator looks to be shaping up a solid 170 division. add askren to it and it looks arguably better than the ufc's.

gsp kind of made his own bed.

I thinks a little in of A, a little of B. Dana probably my did reneg on a few details, but Askren should have just played ball until he landed in the UFC.

With just a win or so he'd be in title contention and would have had WAY more negotiating power. Instead, he didn't budge on a few things and decided to go public with it.

If you throw your boss under the bus before you even have a job....well, we all know what happens. Askren seems a bit egotistical himself and has no doubt overvalued his immediate worth.

Guess how many western people watched his final fight in One FC against a LW? Fuck all.

...it's insane to think that askren would have MORE negotiating power after signing away his likeness rights, losing sponsors, and being locked into a ufc contract (and likely just frozen until it expires, making 0 monies).

and i don't like one (fc) at all, but they did give him a freakin' lambo.

he would have got a title shot in his second or third fight and could have demanded far more money if he signed a 3 fight contract and won all those fights.

How much are the highest paid ONE FC fighters? 200k? He is pretty adamemt he's the best WW on the planet. He could have been on 350-400k with a UFC strap, plus PPV points. The GSP fight could net him $600+ alone.

And Askren's a stupid, whiny baby who fucked up his own career as badly as possible and now is a wrestling coach.

Last time I heard Dana mention Askren was years ago, but Askren can't shut up about Dana, so who's bitter??

The reason why I'm mad about this, BTW, is because I would have LOVED to see Askren in the UFC but it's totally his fault he's not and he just keeps making it worse!! So frustrating for the fans.

sure, IF the ufc even gave him a "title shot" (quotes because let's be real, the titles don't mean a damn thing) - and that's a YUGE if.

the ufc seems more likely to give him a shit deal, with shit matchups... or just freeze him out and screw him over, like they've done to... you know, plenty of other fighters.

i don't think you understand what "negotiating power" is. with the ufc's contracts, the fighters generally have little to none.

Why the fuck would Dana listen to Askren about bringing in USADA lol.. guy was a bellator one fc fighter..

They only brought in USADA to help with the sale and make mma/UFC more legit to potential buyers

So calling the boss of a company a liar can prevent him from ever hiring you to work for said company? I'm shocked, SHOCKED I say!

And I never expected people here to bash a fighter for saying the exact same thing they say about Dana on a daily basis. ;)

Askren knows he has no chance of ever being in the UFC, which is precisely why he's saying this now. Classic lashing out. Which doesn't necessarily make what he says definitively false, or true.
