That's for sure!
That is a great question. They haven't mentioned that so far but it would a great suggestion to them. Schilling fights MMA so he would be in I would think. Petrosyan and others are a another question.
Nice. Reminds me of when Strikeforce and EliteXC collaborated to make decent cards.
Yeah, it does have that feel to it but even better this time in the JMMA ring with JMMA rules and in the Bellator cage under Bellator rules. Best of both worlds of MMA!
Yes I am
Been some personal issues I'm dealing with but next round is coming in the next few days.
I like Coker. He makes shit happen that we otherwise wouldn't get to see.
It's like Strikeforce and DREAM. And they actually traded and it worked and happened more times than many probably remember. Aoki, Ishida, Zaromskis, Manhoef, Cavalcante, Kawajiri, and I suppose you could count Mousasi, were all DREAM fighters who fought in Strikeforce, and Thomson, Nick Diaz, Noons, Saffiedine, were Strikeforce fighters who went over to DREAM. Mayhem went back to DREAM after he signed with Strikeforce too. The DREAM/Strikeforce relationship was amazing, and they put on legitimate fights that people cared about. Diaz went to Japan and fought Sakurai, then Zaromskis went to Strikeforce and fought a champ/champ fight with Diaz. Kawajiri went over and fought Giblert.
With this being the precedent that was set between Coker and Japan in the past, we can only expect another round of great fights between Bellator and RIZIN. I've got a boner thinking about it.
Hes going to take it further I'm probably not supposed to say this but ......
I'd get ready for a full RIZIN vs Bellator card coming next year.
Great breakdown of the DREAM/SF partnership! I remember that very well. I was always stoked for the cross-promotional fights. Even the big DREAM vs. Sengoku card was amazing with champ vs. champ bouts and Aoki broke the arm of the Sengoku champion. The only thing I have to add to your breakdown is that the only thing that makes this deal slightly better ,in my opinion, is the fact that RIZIN allows soccer kicks, stomps, knees, and elbows (including the 12-6 elbow). It is like an added bonus seeing Caldwell and others in the RIZIN ring fighting under these rules. I love the differences in the sport. So we get ring and cage as RIZIN fighters will go to Bellator to fight for the Bellator title in the future. I am looking forward to seeing how this pans out. It has the potential of being the best deal ever with the championships being on the line when the fighters compete. That fighter is also guaranteed to fight once a year for the other org. if they take the title. Sounds like an amazing partnership.
Nice, I look forward to it. I hope your personal issues are alright!
That's right. That is another addition to his breakdown that could be added. I think this partnership will be even better based on my post above.
Get well soon, bud.
Hmm. I actually didn't know that they allowed stomps and 12-6 elbows
Just more reasons to love them. The best rule set since the NHB days.
Yeah, they allow full Japanese MMA rules. Got to love RIZIN, I agree.
Separate names with a comma.
