Ever see seiger's posts?
Also isn't ((words here)) bannable?
That there is a secret group of evil geniuses plotting to control the world.
I am not completely familiar with Seiger other than that he seems a bit unreasonable and trollish. What's the connection between him and the post I was commenting on?
So, most people aren't in academia because they're subject matter specialists who are sought after by universities to boost the university's profile and money making ability?
I ask because "Professor" is a damn hard job to get which would belie the unsuccessful in the real world part of your statement. Seriously, when did universities stop being the real world? They're a business. Professors are employees. The top ones are frequently paid top dollar by big business for their work and insights into specific fields. While still getting paid by the university they work for.
It's a weird stance. It's like saying that a doctor is only in private because he wasn't smart enough to become successful in pharmaceutical research.
Same here. I figured it was impossible after I worked out that the people at the top don't actually know what they're doing a lot of the time.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not joining the anti-authority or anti- intellectual bandwagons. I still I think politicians are generally better at politics than the rest of us; I've just come to realize they're still people, and just as vulnerable to making mistakes and shit decisions as the rest of us.
When I was in high school and in my first few years of college I thought the standard liberal, Democratic Party-type stance was as enlightened as you could get. Bill Clinton and JFK were demi gods.
I refuse to abandon my beliefs.
Swear to god, I saw a Bigfoot once.
It was waiting for the bus.
The truth is out there.
forced diversity is stupid, natural boundaries exist for a reason. You have respect for certain groups until you're all forced to be neck to neck with each other in uncomfortable positions, of course you'll hate each more. Imagine being forced to swap bathrooms with your neighbors, or swap wives, kids. Lots of misunderstanding and hatred will arise. Respect each other, respect boundaries.
People get away with crazy shit here.
Trump and the neo-white nationalist movement are huge in the Deep South, Appalachia and rural Midwest.
Meanwhile, places like New York, Chicago, LA, Houston are repelled by it.
Indeed, you're not even able to do all sorts of scientific research in the private sector since there aren't always any clear profits to gain from it directly.
The friends I have in the academic sector, with Ph.D. level science educations, have all gotten offers from companies that would pay them a lot more than they earn at their universities, but they valued the job that was the most interesting to them over money. One of them took a more high paid job, with some security clearance, but fairly soon returned to the university since he wasn't stimulated enough. It's anecdotal evidence, but still examples of very intelligent people making active choices that aren't based on money.
I would agree with the OP that everyone in academia aren't very intelligent, but the average within that group should be significantly higher than the general average.
You don't believe in Mars. At some point you were dropped as a child
I thought i saw you on that Rogan Bigfoot show
About another 18 years on i am a little religious again.
When I was a kid I used to love anything weird or supernatural. At one point it was my ambition to become a cryptozologist. I thought it was an actual job you could get paid for.
1- you don't think the Deep South and rural Midwest have black people?
2-you think there isn't racism in those cities?
because you were taught so. In school they taught me that JFK was the messiah until he was assassinated.
He's a paid CTR poster, that's a known fact
that the third world is screwed up entirely due to first world colonialism
then I visited the third world, and ya.....
they're dicked on their own
id like to believe my father and loved ones are waiting for me but its very hard not to think that when we die thats it...
