Bas Rutten:"WBKFF Matchmaker Asked me if I needed to get Prostitutes for the Fighters"

Thats normal for a small promotion. I bet Dana gangbanged some chicks with Chuck before...

Is Bas exposing the business?

Seriously though it seems to be insane incompetence at play from the people Bas is not blaming in the story if they are just good guys and it is black and white. Just trusting everybody, promising a lot, trusting all the claims others make, give influence and funds to people you have not properly background checked etc.

Like if this heroin addict guy really said to them that his former employer was his ex best friend who wouldnt pay him and is the head of their rival company etc? Going in to a job interview it is usually stupid to talk shit about your former employer but here it was ok, he gets the job. No warning flag.

Just meeting people in general my trouble sense starts tingling if somebody you just met talks about hating and being hated by various people, drama, various problems etc...
Its nice and kind to give somebody a chance, but makes for volatile situations to hand somebody you know little about lots of power.
Irresponsible and hardly the whole truth Id say

Id hate to think Bas is up to shady stuff but maybe he got excited and trusted the wrong people, saw a chance to make money and get fighters paid.. he hustles for money with training products etc but i dont think hed scam people

The guy is just trying to be generous and Bas is all getting on him. WTF

I'm a fighter and women love me i don't need to pay women love fighters i can assure you

You don't pay whores for sex. You are paying them to go away after.

(To paraphrase Sheen, a man of significant real world experience .)

I watched a documentary about it featuring Bec Rawlings and a few others. I found it entertaining but I'm not sure I am ready for the actualy fights.

Link to Vice documentary(Recommended)

Is this the org that has bec Rawlings as a champ? Ugh
I think Bec is fighting for a different org than this one where Leben and Hendricks fought, its BKFC vs WBKFFFF or something.

Very rarely I read crap this long but damn. That's some tough luck. Good insight. Based GPS (Gay Porn Star) for saving the show

Thats a backroom bonus worth fighting for

Not if you're the last fight on the card.

Here is the Mike Bourke fight in Romania Bas mentioned.

If he said massage therapists or chiropractors I think Bas would be down with that. Not hookers.

Lol Bas trying to distance himself after the shameful decision to even work for a bareknuckle org in 2018.

Shameful? Bareknuckle isn't more dangerous than boxing/MMA/kickboxing

This why I'm saying that Bas comes off almost as bad, with this story his trying to sell here. The matchmaker straight up disappeared for days or weeks at a time, but then you still wanted to "give him a chance"? Bullshit. I hate when people give stories like this, how their former friend/spouse/business partner/whatever was just a total disaster and/or scumbag the entire time but you stuck with them because you're such a good guy.

Don't forget how Bas dropped Kimbo like a hot potato after he lost and then started shitting all over him in the media. I think Bas will lend his credibility to anyone for the right price and if the product isn't well received by fans he'll just distance himself and talk shit to save face.

I agree about the first part fully, one can have excuses and you can explain why something went wrong, have the odds stacked against you etc(I still think you should take responsibility), but when you give somebody the opportunity to repeatedly screw over others that is just bullshit and weak. No excuse for that, take responsibility.

What I think is Bas and other people saw that an uninformed sucker was wasting a lot of his money - some of them maybe tried their best to make something out of it, but the motive from the start wasn't that pure. It was opportunistic. Hey, this guy is handing out money, let me get in on that!
Now they don't want backlash from the fans and people involved who ends up not getting paid or lost money.

About the Kimbo thing - would you mind summarizing what happened back then? Long time ago. I remember Bas training Kimbo and me thinking it wasn't a good look, because he was praising Kimbo a bit too much, acting more like a hype man than a serious trainer. That combined with Bas only really training friends, hobbyists and Duane Ludwig before. So I thought for Kimbos sake I hope it's not a cash grab, because even if Bas knows all you need to know about fighting, practically I'd think one would need a great gym to prepare in Kimbos unique situation (being hyped from the start, being an older guy, only a matter of time before being thrown to the wolves).
Bas was saying how Kimbo is the nicest guy ever and super talented. Then suddenly Bas had some negative comments and didn't train Kimbo anymore. Was it really Bas dropping Kimbo and turning on him right after a loss?

Yep, this works in dating too. It is dangerous to continue a relationship with someone who only has contentious relationships with their family. Sure there are bad families out there, but not as often as there are people who complain about minor things with their family. Or something like that.

Look I like Bas too, he's a legend of the sport and a great personality for the cameras but you're giving him a hell of a lot more benefit of the doubt than I am. My opinion is that he'll just shill for anything if his check clears.

As far as Kimbo goes, hey maybe I'm remembering it wrong because it's been a decade but I remember like you laid it out here. He was over the top gushing for Kimbo, when he got Petruzelli'd Bas immediately came out and said the good stuff you would expect from a coach "oh he got caught and he'll be back" etc. But then very shortly after that he was shitting on Kimbo, I distinctly remember him calling Kimbo an asshole which kind of shocked me because nobody said stuff like that about the guy. He was saying that Kimbi didn't train hard, didn't want to learn bla bla bla. It left a bad taste in my mouth for El Guapo. And this fiasco with the bareknuckle bumfight org that he was hyping up as better than UFC is just what I've come to expect from him.

As I recall, Bas left Kimbo something like 2 weeks before the Petruzelli fight over Kimbo not wanting to train heel hook defense against Shamrock. (I think this was Bas getting a bit to emotional, because it was like that third chance at Shamrock that he never got)

He did say good things about Kimbo after the fight.

Well it's obvious that a win bonus isn't enough for some of these shlubs to really fight, so why not?

Losers should get trannies, too.

I don't think Bas is evil or anything. He is just Dutch. They have no filter and it causes a lot of problems when they go overseas to work. They say whatever that is on their mind at the time without little thought. He threw overeem under the bus when he left GG.
