bare knuckle boxing for mma?..

with today's regs and litigation oriented society, you kiss bare knuckle or NHB stuff goodbye forever

interesting article- don't have much to add except I always wondered why the old school boxers had the lead arm more outstreatched.

I've sparred with a guy who always keeps his lead hand stretched a bit farther like that. It keeps a good guard and unless you have really long arms, it's incredibly difficult to get around it.

pretty cool read, don't think Clay Guida would have been a fan in the old days...

Very interesting read.. although I've never practiced it so don't know for sure, the vertical fist and straight arm for kinetic energy part reminds me of Wing Chun principles.

It was also a good reminder that boxing is a sport and the gloves make a big difference, so a lot of traditional martial arts don't get the stand-up credit they deserve as people tend to compare in the context of a gloved ring bout.
