Barboza needs to get that KO against Khabib, so LW can finally move on

Unfortunately for LW, Barboza shits the bed every single time he takes that step up in competition. I see no reason why this time is going to be different.
It’s kinda relative. He fought Pettis when Pettis was #3. He had only lost to RDA and a split to Eddie and Barboza easily handled him, 3-0 at his own game. That was a big step up.

He used to lose to mid tier guys and now he’s finding ways to win top 10 fights (Pettis, Dariush, Green, Melendez, etc).

It’s just that after he beats them, people write them off. If he loses to them, then they are legit and he shit the bed again. lol

YES! Then rematch with Ferg for vacated belt and Khabib dominates welterweight via tiramisu
If Khabib could dominate WW, he would be fighting in the division. He struggles to make 155, and has missed weight, so why does he keep insisting on fighting at 155?

If his only goal is to be UFC champ, and what DC says is true, Khabib out grapples B-Level AKA HWs, then why isn't he already at WW making weight comfortably and defending the title a couple of times?

Because it is all hype. He knows he has a huge (literal) advantage at 155, and it is his best chance at being UFC Champ, that is why he is willing to bring himself close to death, to stay in that division.

Don't drink too much of the Kool-Aid. There is lots of hype in the UFC.

You have a point about Pettis, Barboza was a even slight dog in that fight. In hindsight Pettis was beginning his slide at that point though. Perhaps Barboza has turned a corner.

His only loss to a mid tier ish guy was way back against Varner. Ferguson, MJ and Cerone are elite.

Khabib will destroy Barboza. Nobody beats Khabib. Only Khabib beats Khabib.

I feel his is so over hyped on here. He's beaten two decent fighters, and had 24 fights.

We've seen that his wrestling and top game is world class, we have also seen a susceptibility to being hit and some of the most horrible striking in the division.

I'm interested to see him fight Barboza, who I give a real chance to - and I think Ferguson completely outclasses him.

You'll see why he is so hyped when he faces Barboza. His striking is irrelevant. RDA and MJ are both top notch strikers with good TDD and they stood no chance against Khabib. A better striker than those two wouldn't make a huge difference unless he also has godly TDD. Fergusson I think Khabib's toughest fight though, the man is not only good everywhere, he has heart of a lion. I still think Khabib beats him but we'll see when that time comes.

I agree khabib is a monster, but objectively, RDA in 2014 and MJ now do not have great TDD compared to Edson. RDA got rag dolled right before by Dunham (taken down 7 times I believe), and then again after khabib by Jason high before finishing him. He wasn’t the terminator RDA that took out Benson and Pettis yet.

MJ is elite in striking but has always had suspect TDD. Literally every grappler he fights to my memory has taken him down with little struggle (Jury, Khabib, Sass, Madadi).

Statistically speaking, Edson is top 5 TDD at lw and neither of those two are top 10. Also factor in everyone tries to get edson down, there is a huge sample size.

Im hoping barboza kos him but we all know khabib is gonna smother him. Yeah, that sounds exciting...

Hoping for another pullout. Theres still time..

I'm really hoping Barbosa wins. He's entertaining and actually fights.

It doesn't seem likely but you never know. Michael Johnson was lighting him up on the feet.

Barboza is gonna kill that man. Khabib can't close the distance without getting KO'd.

Before Barboza can win , Khabib has to make it to the octagon... But I agree. Barboza by some crazy spinning stuff would blow this place up.

Haha yeah I actual agree, his grappling advantage is unlikely to persist at WW. Maybe if UFC opens a 165 div he might find a balance of maintaining some grappling advantage while accommodating for his lack of nutrition discipline

Johnson had him on chicken legs and a more composed striker might have put him away

If Khabib beats Barboza, that means they´re gonna have to schedule Khabib vs Ferguson AGAIN!! For the 4th time! Please, NOOOOOO!!! I can´t go through that stuff again. I love the Khabib vs Ferg match up but........ just no, not now, Khabib needs to prove he´s reliable again.

And LW has to move on from guys like Conor and Khabib who don´t fight.

War Barboza

Khabib's gunna pound his face into the ground!!!

Khabib is not holding up the LW-division. The LW-champion, who didn't defend for over a year, is.

I personally don’t give Barboza much of a chance, he’s choked before. If and when Khabib plants him and dominates him for a minute or so, he will wilt.

He could always land some crazy stuff, he’s done it plenty of times

yeah because the divsion doesn't already have two title holders. why you got sand in the vagina? Khabib aint hold up shit Tony got a belt he'll most likely sit on his until Conor is ready.
Well an interim belt isn’t supposed to be defended. Supposed to be unified.Im sure he’d defend the real belt if Conor doesn’t make the fight happen. Why should he have to defend a Interim belt when the champ isn’t injured?
