Back From The Dead

Thursday

Deadlift
2x3 @ 385
3x3 @ 365

Woke up 30 minutes earlier than I normally do since I had to be at work early. I had meant to get up an hour early, but I overslept and was in a bit of a rush. It was cold as fuck out and I didn't get my normal pre-lift coffee so the day did not start off well. Weights felt slow as shit and I wasn't too happy with my performance today

Squat
3x5 @ 275

High Bar Squat + TKE
4x8 @ 225 + EFS Light Band

These continue to suck balls, but can't beat the quad pump

Friday

It was still cold as balls today, but I managed to find a small heater to bring into the garage with me. It didn't do much to keep me warm, but did let me unfreeze my hands between sets.

Bench Press (no feet)
305x1

My goal is to hit 315 without my feet on the ground before my competition prep ends. It's a bit of a lofty goal and I won't be crushed if I don't hit it. I just think it would be a cool accomplishment

Competition Bench
5x5 @ 235

Close Grip Bench
3x7 @ 215
2x7 @ 205

BB Incline Chest Supported Row
4x10 @ 205

Band Facepull
3x12 @ EFS Average Band

305 with no leg drive is no joke, I'd probably fall off my shitty bench if I tried that.

It's funny because I've only benched 300+ 5 times in my life. The first time is when I put 300 on the bar just to break through that barrier. The second time was the first time I benched 315. The third time was when I benched 320 in competition. The other 2 times were this week and last week when I hit 300 and 305 without leg drive. By the end of this cycle I'll have benched 300+ with my feet off the ground more times than I've bench it with my feet on the ground.

Not sure why, but my bench exploded these past few months. I think it's partially learning how to bench correctly and use my t-rex arms to their fullest potential. It's fun being able to take weights you used to get pinned by and crush them.

Squats are looking good man, form looks smooth and consistent.

Thanks. I've been working on my consistency a lot since last meet. Every meet I've done I've ended up missing my 3rd squat attempt because I get nervous of getting called for depth, go too low, lose my tightness, and get set stuck on the way back up. So I want to make sure I'm confident knowing where my depth is.
