sweet.
do you notice any structural differences from the #7 at all?
Looks nice man, cheers for the link. No new gis until new belt arrives. Hopefully this one is as sharp as your black atama
i really would like a gi that isnt a wizards robe
hey man looks good i havent got mine yet haha i just bought a new car so maybe a in a few more weeks .
iam 5'9 225 kinda shaped like jeff monson but with pudge haha i have an atama a3 gold weave i think iam gonna go with a a3 also hopefully it will fit me ! i emailed atama and they said an a3 should fit fine ...iam worried about the shrinkege of the pants though vcuz i got some short as legs and i heard the pants dont shrink much .
I am 5'8 210 and am shaped like a............well fat dude and the A3 Double weave fits great after 2 cold washes. near perfect in everyway and I hope it doesnt shrink anymore.
pretty sure a A3 will fit you, I am not sure but I think someone here said that the Mundials and liteweight Atamas fit a little bigger
I'm about 5' 7" 155lbs (was originally 160-165lbs when first ordered--sort of BJ Penn body type) and I wear an A2 very comfortable.
When I first received it, it was quite large...most likely enough to fit a person 180lbs.
I've had to wash it several times in hot water in order to shrink it to size better. The pants I love, very light, strong, and durable material (ripstop material?).
The gi, however, is very different. It is this thick heavy material sort of like berber carpet, lol.
It is highly durable no doubt about it. But it is SO thick and heavy feeling.
However since training in it so months now, I'm use to it and it feels normal. Good usage during the winter months.
I must say though, READ THE CARE sheet, they give you when you buy it. Because I didn't soak it in vinegar for awhile before using nor use cold water...and just washed it in hot and now the gi has a reddish tint to it (from the colors leaking from the ATAMA logos).
did you ever put it in the dryer? or, did you just air/line dry it?
I'm surprised you say how thick and heavy it is.
I have never heard that before.
To put things into perspective, what kind of gis do you have prior experience with?
just summer, lite, or single weaves?
