I also know about the stupidity of US support for gulf states and pakistan which those countries help make the muslim world worse by expanding their hardline versions. My guess though is that it is temporary alliance by US military complex, use Saudis to help takeout Iran etc and then one day after other enemies defeated dump or go after saudis.
