90’s was the best era for music overall. Bands like metal bands like Metallica, pantera, grunge with nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, Brit pop bands like oasis, blur, then you had the likes of Radiohead, REM, RATM,RHCP, faith no more, dance music was at a peak. Hip hop acts such as Wu tang clan, nas, mob deep still had a message. Music in general went shit in about 2003 for me personally. Even some 90’s boy bands weren’t too bad when I look back.

    Amen.

Also, their breakout still holds up as one of the greatest pop hits of the decade:

one of the greatest eras in music history. 1991-2000 is fucking loaded with some of the greatest albums of all time. i think 2011-2020 will probably end up being the worst era for a very long time

All the new bands in the late 80s where shitty glam bands like poison, warrant, winger, skid row, ratt.

Guns n Roses was given a godlike status because they where really the only good new band of that era (that's part of the reason why there a little overrated, solid band during a shit era and where praised like gods because of it).

1979-1983 was a bad era for new bands.

Alot of slow easily forgettable whiny rock was pushed during that time (bands like Hall n Oates, Ambrosia, REO speedwagon, Boston, Foreigner, Toto).

It took until 83-84 to actually see good new stuff being pushed (stuff like Dire Straits, The police, Duran Duran, Def Leppard, U2, Van Halen, Prince.....ect)
