This is what I am interpreting from the developing narrative post-Usman vs Maia. It is seems like the fans are saying Maia is a bum and Usman should have smashed him left right and centre. SInce Usman didn't, then Usman can't be that good.

Khabib fought Iaquinta for 5 rounds, and the McGregor fans tried to downplay it, but the overall narrative was "Khabib time."

Usman vs Maia was pretty similar fight to Khabib vs Iaquinta. No?
 
He lost to three unlikeable guys in a row, people are just pissed at him right now.
 
Maia has been figured out.

If you stop his takedown, your chance of winning goes up significantly.

He is also 40.

No it was not similar to Khabib vs Iaquinta. Khabib dominated that fight and he even traded with Al.

Usman was too pussy to even brawl with pillow fisted Maia
 
Right now, it's hard to imagine how he beat or finished some dangerous guys like Condit and Gunnar so easily.

We obviously watched two different fights. I saw Usman literally running after Maia in some points of the fights. Maybe you were too hypnotized with hate to have seen that. LOL
 
Usman did more than Woodley did! Hahahaha

Maia was a good fighter but about as close to a one trick pony as you can be in MMA.

Guy got title shots at MW and WW so it definitely worked for him enough to be remembered as a great fighter.

Hope he gets a retirement fight and wins via RNC

He is also fighting Masvidal, Woodley, and covington back to back to back in a time span of 6 months and then fighting Usman with 3 weeks notice.
 
Prime Maia is a contender. 40 year old, tired, short notice Maia is fringe top 15.
 
He's old, slow, unmotivated and has a clear roadmap to being beaten.

Very true. He also fought Woodley with a 4 week camp after literally fighting Masvidal a week or two prior.

Seriously comparing Khabib's performance to Usman's? \

Khabib landed twice as many shots, as Usman, landed 6 takedowns, attempted 15, attempted over 300 total strikes...

Khabib was miles more active than Usman
