Lmao at people still thinking that Israel is an illegitimate, illegal state.

Why are you laughing at imaginary people that don't actually exists in our discussion? Did you forget to take your meds today for the hallucinations? o_O

The paleo's would have a much better life if they had been trying to do the opposite of what they are doing now all along. Work with the Israelis rather than constantly trying to subjugate them.

Two killed at Israeli building in Jordan

Two Jordanians have been killed and an Israeli wounded in an incident near to Israel's embassy in Amman.

Israel's foreign ministry said a Jordanian attacked a security guard with a screwdriver in a residential building used by the embassy.

He was one of two men delivering furniture to the building, it said in a statement.

One of the workers and the building's landlord were killed and the security guard was injured, it added.

It did not confirm earlier reports of shooting but said the guard had "acted in self defence".

The incident came at a time of heightened tension in the region over a Jerusalem holy site.

Details of the incident in the Jordanian capital remain unclear. Israeli authorities imposed reporting restrictions in the immediate aftermath.

The building has been sealed off and staff evacuated.

The heavily protected Israeli embassy is located in the Rabiyeh neighbourhood, an affluent part of the capital city.

According to the Vienna convention, the Israeli foreign ministry said, the security man has immunity from investigation and arrest.

Holy site row

On Friday, thousands of Jordanians protested in Amman against Israel over the installation of metal detectors at a site sacred to both Muslims and Jews in East Jerusalem.

Jordan, which occupied East Jerusalem from 1949 to 1967, is the custodian of the site, which is known to Muslims as Haram al-Sharif and Jews as the Temple Mount.

Tensions between Israelis and Palestinians over the site have surged in recent days in response to the metal detectors, which were put in place following the killing of two Israeli policemen.

Israeli guard at embassy in Jordan opened fire after being attacked, foreign ministry says
July 23, 2017

Israel's Foreign Ministry said on Monday that a security guard at the country's embassy in Jordan opened fire, killing two Jordanians, after being attacked by one of them with a screwdriver.

The incident took place on Sunday evening, at a residential building used by embassy staff.

Israeli media said Jordan has demanded to conduct an investigation and has prevented Israeli embassy staff from leaving the premises. Jordanian government officials were not immediately available for comment.

Israel's Foreign Ministry did not refer to such demands in its statement, but said the guard has diplomatic immunity, according to international conventions.

The shooting came at a time when Israel and Jordan were conducting intense contacts over an escalating crisis at a contested Jerusalem shrine that is revered by Muslims and Jews. Jordan is the Muslim custodian of the site.

Israel's security Cabinet was meeting from late Sunday until the early hours of Monday to discuss the crisis at the shrine, and was briefed during the meeting about the incidents at the embassy, the Foreign Ministry said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone to Israel's ambassador in Jordan, the ministry said.

Attacked with screwdriver

The ministry said the incident began when two Jordanian workmen arrived at the residential building to replace furniture.

It said one of the workers, identified by Israeli media as a 17-year-old, attacked an Israeli security guard with a screwdriver.

The guard opened fire, killing the teen, the media reports said. A second Jordanian, the owner of the building, was hit by gunfire and later died of his injuries. Jordanian police said the building owner was a physician.

The Israeli guard was lightly hurt, the media reports said.

Tension over shrine

The incident is bound to further inflame Jordanian public opinion against Israel and complicate efforts to defuse tensions over a contested Jerusalem shrine.

On Friday, thousands of Jordanians marched in the streets of the capital Amman to protest against Israeli policies at the shrine, known to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary and to Jews as the Temple Mount.

The tensions over the Muslim-administered shrine erupted after Israel installed metal detectors at the gates, in response to a shooting attack from there that killed two Israeli policemen.

Muslim religious leaders have alleged that Israel is trying to expand its control at the site under the guise of security, a claim Israel denies. The tensions have led to mass prayer protests and Israeli-Palestinian violence.

Israel and Jordan signed a peace deal in 1994, but the agreement remains deeply unpopular in the kingdom where many residents are of Palestinian origin. Jordan and Israel have close security ties, but frequently clash over Israeli policies at the Jerusalem shrine.

Jordan's ruling Hashemite dynasty, said to trace its ancestry to Prophet Muhammad, draws much of its legitimacy from its role as protector of the shrine.

Lmao at people still thinking that Israel is an illegitimate, illegal state. I would just like to point out he amount of land confiscated from the Jews in Arabia was 5x the size of modern Israel. We don't hear a peep abut that though.

BTW when the British divided Hindustan into India and Pakistan millions of people were kicked out of their homeland (virtually all non-Muslims were removed from Pakistan). Yet lefties do not run around crying that Pakistan is an illegitimate state and should be disbanded. It's a stunning act of hypocrisy.

And during that partition, there were some 2 million deaths, and 14 million people displaced. Yet, not a peep about it from the "anti-colonial" left. They reserve all their hate for one group alone, and then call others racist.

Not only that but I've read that the British originally promised the Jews more land. Like they promised all Israel and the Palestinian territories for a Jewish state. The Jews are some of the most oppressed people ever.

After WW2, the British offered the Palestinians like 80 percent of the land, including the West Bank. They refused, along with many times after.

It as a near even split but the Palestinians had the better farm land and water supplies. They pissed it away with 5 wars.

Maybe because those happened nearly 70 years ago.

Also im pretty sure that at the time the Bangladeshi genocide was really condemned.

But nice arguments you got there, "Well, decades ago ethnic cleansing and apartheid were cool, so why cant Israel do it now"

Be careful about what you wish for.

Israel and Jordan in diplomatic standoff after embassy deaths
24 July 2017

Israel and Jordan are involved in a diplomatic standoff after an Israeli guard reportedly shot dead a Jordanian attacker near the embassy in Amman.

Jordanian police want to question the guard and have sealed off the area, but Israel says he has diplomatic immunity.

A second Jordanian hit by the gunfire died in hospital. Israel says he was inadvertently shot.

It is one of the most serious incidents between the two countries since they signed a peace treaty in 1994.

Israel's foreign ministry said one of the Jordanians stabbed the security officer from behind inside a residential building adjacent to the embassy where he had gone to install some furniture.

The suspected attacker was named in local media as Mohammed Zakaria al-Jawawdeh, a 17-year-old carpenter.

The second Jordanian, who later died, was the building's landlord.

All three were taken to hospital and the guard is believed to have returned to the embassy compound following treatment.

Jordanian authorities are investigating and have sealed off the area around the heavily protected embassy in the Rabiyeh neighbourhood, an affluent part of Jordan's capital.

Unconfirmed reports in Israeli media say Jordan is not allowing the guard to leave the country and that Israel has confined embassy staff to the compound.

Israel's foreign ministry said that under the 1961 Vienna Convention, the security guard has immunity from investigation and detention.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to Israel's ambassador to Jordan, Eynat Schlein, following the incident on Sunday night. Discussions are also under way between Israeli and Jordanian authorities to try to resolve the matter.

That's why I dont get how people think this is merely Zionist aggression. The 3 no strategy has been in place by Palestinians for like 60 years. They have been offered majority control multiple times, but since majority does not mean complete, they balk and fight.

They got their shit tossed and live in pretty terrible conditions. I fully admit their living conditions are fucking brutal. But it is their own dann fault. The Isrealis won and the arabs keep coming for blood so Isreal implements harsher security measures. Life gets worse for the arabs and they go for more blood and no one wants to tell the arabs to stop being cunts to see if life will improve. Fuck 'em

Israel removes metal detectors as tensions simmer
By Oren Liebermann and Kareem Khadder | July 24, 2017

Israel is removing recently installed metal detectors outside the entrance to the al-Aqsa mosque in the Old City of Jerusalem, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced early Tuesday morning.

The metal detectors, installed nearly two weeks ago after an attack at the site, have been a source of increased tension in the wider region, including widespread Palestinian protests across Jerusalem and the West Bank, as well as diplomatic tension between Israel and Jordan.

The decision to remove the metal detectors, made by the country's security cabinet, was based on the recommendation of Israel's security agencies, the statement said. Instead of metal detectors, Israel plans to install unspecified advanced technologies and "smart inspection."

The security cabinet decision comes amid high-level discussions between Israel and Jordan aimed at easing tensions between the two countries.
The announcement of the removal came only hours after the Prime Minister's Office said staff of the Israeli embassy in Jordan, including a security guard involved in a deadly weekend incident, returned to Israel on Monday night.

The move came as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and King Abdullah II of Jordan spoke on the phone Monday night in an effort to defuse a diplomatic row in the aftermath of Sunday's attack on the Israeli embassy in Amman.

In Sunday's attack, an Israeli security guard was stabbed and two Jordanians inside the embassy compound were killed, according to Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The incident strained already tense relations between the two countries. Earlier Monday, Jordan had said all the embassy staff could leave except the security guard.

Charged atmosphere in Jordan leads to Israeli concessions
By Ben Lynfield | July 25, 2017

ShowImage.ashx

The shooting deaths of two Jordanians at the hands of an Israeli security guard who was stabbed with a screwdriver at the Israeli Embassy compound in Amman was not being linked Monday by Jordan’s media or officialdom to the crisis around the installation of metal detectors at entrances to the Temple Mount.

But the incident occurred against the background of highly inflamed anti-Israel passions in Jordan because of the metal detectors and the perception that they are an infringement against al-Aksa, the third-holiest site in Islam.

For this reason, King Abdullah was unlikely to let the security guard go without receiving in return a tangible Israeli concession.

He would not release the guard gratis, “because of public opinion in Jordan, public opinion in other Arab countries and the furor created by the entire al-Aksa affair,” said Gabriel Ben-Dor, a Middle East specialist at Haifa University, hours before the guard and the other Israeli Embassy staff were returned to Israel. “He might be able to do it under normal circumstances when everything is peaceful and quiet, but given the violent and vehement atmosphere all over, I don’t think he’ll be able to do that.”

Last Friday, an estimated 8,000 people demonstrated in Amman in solidarity with the Palestinian fight against the metal detectors, installed after a deadly attack by three Israeli Arab gunmen. That is a large number for a Jordanian protest.

Demonstrations also took place in the southern town of Karak and in Zarqa, east of Amman.

Another indication of how charged the atmosphere in Jordan is comes from reading its most conservative, establishment, close-to-the-palace newspaper, Ad-Dustour. An opinion piece Monday by columnist Aida Najjar said: “Israel today practices new colonialism and occupation and makes efforts to Judaize Jerusalem based on false claims and fairy tales. It constitutes the gravest danger to al-Aksa Mosque. It has planned to take it over and destroy it and build the claimed temple on its ruins. Its plans and dreams continue – it is attempting to empty the city of its [Arab] inhabitants and it settles the settlers in their place.”

In Alrai newspaper, a recent caricature showed a massive Israeli army helmet that partly covered the Dome of the Rock.

Abdullah has aligned with the Palestinian Authority in complete rejection of the metal detectors not only because he knows his citizenry, a majority of which is Palestinian, but also because his very legitimacy is linked to being custodian of the Muslim and Christian holy places in Jerusalem, a standing accorded to Jordan under its 1994 peace treaty with Israel.

He cannot be inactive when al-Aksa is seen as threatened.

Even before the metal detectors were installed, Jordanian discourse on al-Aksa was vehement. Despite Abdullah’s condemnation of the attack by the three gunmen from Umm el-Fahm, the Jordanian parliament applauded it.

Parliamentary speaker Atef Tarawneh was quoted by Ynet as saying: “May God have mercy on our martyrs who watered our pure soil. The damage by the Israeli occupation in the holiest sites of Jerusalem and in al-Aksa is grounds for continuing the resistance, not to surrender in the face of oppression or tyranny.”

Writing in Ad-Dustour Monday, another columnist, Ezzat Jeradat, highlighted the perceived Israeli threat to Arabs in Jerusalem and took issue with Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein for condemning the Jordanian parliament’s stance.

“He forgot that the occupation authorities ignore the peace agreement which makes the Jerusalem religious holy sites a Jordanian responsibility and forgets the tens of legislative bills that go against the peace agreement in text and spirit,” he wrote.

Jordanian government sources quoted in Alrai said that Jordan will take “appropriate diplomatic measures” in the event that Israel refuses to hand over the security guard for investigation.

Jordanian Attorney-General Ashraf Abdullah has opened an investigation into the deaths and ordered autopsies of the corpses, Alrai reported.

The episode has echoes of the 1997 capture of two Mossad agents after they injected a fatal substance into Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal in Amman. Amid a severe crisis over what Jordanians experienced as a blatant breach of their sovereignty, King Hussein demanded that Israel turn over the antidote so that Mashaal’s life could be saved. Netanyahu, who was also prime minister then, agreed, and after the agents were released, implemented the major concession of freeing from a life sentence the imprisoned founder of Hamas, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.

Abdullah, who relies on cooperation with Israel in security and other fields, has reason to avoid a protracted crisis. Yet it is likely that this time, too, Israel will have to pay a price.

Ben-Dor believes that one possibility is that Jordan would release the guard in exchange for an Israeli concession on the metal detectors.

“The government has been looking to give that up anyway,” he says. “It’s a tactical measure not worth the political price, so they are looking for an excuse to concede the point without seeming to give in to pressure. It seems possible a deal might be cooking along those lines.”

Muslims keep up shrine boycott despite Israeli concessions

JERUSALEM — Jul 25, 2017

Israeli police officers dismantle metal detectors outside the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem's Old City, early Tuesday, July 25, 2017.

Muslim leaders urged the faithful Tuesday to keep up their prayer protests and avoid entering a contested Jerusalem shrine, even after Israel dismantled metal detectors that initially triggered the tensions.

Israel said it would replace the metal detectors with new security arrangements based on "advanced technology" to be installed in the next six months. This reportedly refers to sophisticated cameras.
Muslim clerics have demanded that Israel restore the situation at the shrine — the third-holiest in Islam and the most sacred in Judaism — to what it was before it installed the metal detectors last week.

The clerics said Tuesday they need time to study the proposed new Israeli measures but suggested a decision could be made by the end of the day.

"We need to know all the details before we decide to pray inside the compound," said Mohammed Hussein, the top Muslim cleric, or mufti, in Jerusalem.

Muslim worshippers heeded the call, with thousands praying in the streets outside the shrine Tuesday evening, as they had for noon services.

The continued protests meant that the escalating crisis between Israel and the Muslim world, which began in mid-July, was not defused, even after Israel backed down on the metal detectors.
Jordan, the Muslim custodian of the shrine, has played a key role in trying to end the showdown over the holy site.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said the kingdom wants "calm to return" to the shrine and to see a historic status quo there restored. Israel must "revoke all new measures on the ground," he said.

Jordan's position on the continued Muslim protests and the Israeli security plan was not clear from his comments.

It's easy to spite them when your citizens aren't being attacked and you don't have to deal with riots
They will be attacked no matter what. Those shit heads don't want peace. They never have and never will. At least with Israeli control and detectors their people can worship in safety.

Arab League: 'Israel is playing with fire in Jerusalem'
The organization denounced Israel's "Judaization" of the city.

The Arab League on Sunday stated that Jerusalem is a "red line" in response to massive protests against Israel's implementation of metal detectors at the Temple Mount.

The 22-member state organization's Secretary General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said that "Jerusalem is a red line, Arabs and Muslims will not allow harm to it." He added, "Israel is playing with fire when it tries to changing the status quo in the Holy City, especially the al-Aksa mosque."

Aboul Gheit, who previously served as Egypt's foreign minister and visited the Temple Mount during his tenure, said that "the Israeli authorities put the region in a very dangerous situation," saying that Israeli policies "are not directed at the Palestinians alone" and that they "hurt the feelings of every Arab and Muslim in the world."

A spokesman for the secretary general accused Israel of trying to "Judaize" Jerusalem, a city which they said had an "Arab character." The statement also said Israeli "excavations around the Temple Mount to look for Jewish symbols have no basis in reality."

Aboul Gheit claimed that "Israel is trying to take over the Old City although no other country recognizes its sovereignty there, and it is considered one the most final status issues between Israel and the Palestinians." He stressed that any changes in the Old City "constitute a red line" and encouraged the international community - particularly the United States - "to take responsibility and to oblige the Israeli government to maintain the status quo."

He also added that "Israel is playing with fire and has ignited a major crisis in the Arab world, making the struggle with the Palestinians a religious struggle - which will lead to disastrous consequences for the future."

Arab League spokesman Mahmoud Afifi said that an emergency meeting will be held on Wednesday with the foreign ministers of the league's member states, at the request of Jordan.

Turkish President Erdogan calls on all Muslims to 'protect' Jerusalem

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoganhas urged Muslims across the world to “visit” and “protect” Jerusalem, slamming what he said was an “unacceptable” infringement on Palestinians’ rights to a holy site.

While the metal detectors are being dismantled, Israel’s capitulation did not go far enough for Mr Erdogan, who had previously spoken to Israeli President Reuven Rivlin urging for the status quo in Jerusalem to be restored.

“From here I make a call to all Muslims. Anyone who has the opportunity should visit Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa mosque,” Mr Erdogan said in Ankara. “Come, let’s all protect Jerusalem”, he added.
