Anyone understand 10/100/1000Base T Ethernet?

So Ive been looking to buy a new high end computer. I notice some of the new more expensive computers have 10/100/1000Base T ethernet.

Standard computers just have 10/100/1000. Ive been trying to figure out the difference but my research just leads me to technical jargon I do not understand.

My main question is... Is there a performance difference for gaming and browsing?

I know that 10/100/1000 supports gigabit internet, the 1000 is for gigabit connections.

Yet none of the spec sheets say gigabit ethernet. The only ones that say gigabit ethernet are the 10/100/1000Base T ethernet ports.

I ask because in 2 months ill be upgrading to gigabit internet so I want to take full advantage of the speeds.

Heres an example of the spec sheets im talking about on bestbuy.

"Ethernet Port 10/100/1000

10/100/1000 Ethernet port provides a reliable, wired connection to the internet via a LAN for even faster potential upload and download speeds"

It does not call it gigabit ethernet though my understanding is it supports gigabit internet.

Vs

"Ethernet Port 10/100/1000 Base-T

Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) port provides the speed and reliable hardwired network connection that can mean the difference between winning and losing"

As you can see the 10/100/1000 is not referred to as gigabit internet but the 10/100/1000Base T is.

Can anyone explain this in simple terms

10/100/1000 is the speed. Base-T just is the designator that you are running over twister pair wires. It is common to drop this designation on various spec sheets so don't worry about it.

Do you have a network attached storage device? Do you move files from computer to computer over your network often?
If you answered no to those questions, anything with a 100 will be fine.

You won't notice any difference between the 2. Same shit, one sounds cooler.
