I played it in high school, so 1999-2000. It came out around the same time as Counterstrike and Team Fortress.
It was basically an online free-for-all, except all the weapons were reprogrammed to do radically different things. The grenades would turn into vortexes and suck you into them. I used to love throwing them down water pipes and hearing people die in the next room. And the rocket launcher shot out scientists who just stood around. If a player accidentally ran into them the scientist would greet them and then explode. I used to love filling an entire room with them and then I'd hear 5-6 scientists greeting someone, followed by 5-6 explosions.
I don't remember what the other weapons did.
No one but me seems to remember this.
