Anyone else playing Persona 5 on merciless?

Never played a Persona game before and I started this one on merciless and holy shit is it hard. You only get 0.4x experience and money for battles, (which I didn't know until tonight) and enemies do 3x as much critical and technical hits but so do you. Really enjoying the challenge and definitely the story so far. Haven't been sucked into a game like this for awhile.

I started NG+ on Merciless and I was actually doing good for a while until the second palace; where the boss can exploit all your weaknesses in one turn. After a couple of restarts, I decided to set it back to normal lol.

I was planning on doing a Merciless run for NG+ when I didn't need to focus on stats like kindness and guts and could focus on building the confidants and spend extra time dungeon crawling building up exp levels.
