I was somewhat socialist when young(-18), then got somewhat classical liberal and now I believe in a mix of the two with nationalism added in the mix. AKA, social nationalist(cuz the reverse is tarnished).
I believe a country should be democratic, allow free enterprise(no communism, rigorous state control of business) but also provide a safety net for its citizens but not to the whole world.
Of course that will depend on historical circumstances too, I don't think current chinese communist party is that bad, given the circumstances(dismantling the party and implementing democracy would be hard and maybe not worth it), although I think Japan is a much better place(free elections, allows private business, decent safety net, strict migration control).

My dream-world is libertarian, however it doesn't seem feasible in this geopolitical environment.

I never was "subtle". I have always presented an honest account of my search for truth and what I think is best for the future.

This was a tough pill for me to swallow, but I've recently came to the realization that this is what is the best, because it's true.

It's funny you mention it. When I stopped smoking pot, finished my education (chemistry background) and quit playing videogames, I fell out of liberalism.

I was thrown into a reality where "meh, I can tolerate it" wasn't going to fly anymore. No more tolerating terrorism, no more tolerating institutional policies that discriminate towards white people, no more tolerating values I don't believe in (as it will lead to the genocide of those genetically similar to me).

Quitting pot and getting a scientific education was my awakening. Pot and liberalism is the blue pill.

I don't really consider my-self either or, but I'm definitely more conservative now. In the past I voted for, Gore, Kerry, and Obama twice, but this election I voted for trump. The left imo has transitioned into this bigoted toxic cesspool. There are still things I like about the democratic party, but the bad outweighs the good these days.
