Any advice to maintain mount?

I'm a big fan of basically locking guard from top mount. It lets me really drive my hips into theirs and keep them pinned down.
 
I like a high S mount with my weight centered right in the middle of their sternum. Block a few strong bucks with good active posting, and that will usually give you a good opening to hunt the finish. I like going for the cross choke, and with the S mount it leaves me in good position to switch to armbar if they get sloppy with their arm position while defending the choke.
 
As said, attacking an arm so that can't just freely push your hips

Stepping over him to side mount is also an option
