Anthony Pettis' Use of the Cage

Using the cage to get airborne like that should be illegal. How is it any different from grabbing the cage to avoid a takedown or to help get on your feet? The cage is not supposed to be used except to confine the combatants. He should have been docked a point for the showtime kick. Who was reffing? Probably Herb or BJM. Those two make too many mistakes.

Like in semi-pro when the guy slam dunks the ball and gets a double foul because the ref is stupid and doesn't understand the evolution of the sport.

Yes, and standing up against the cage and pushing your opponent against the cage should be illegal as well. Mir beat DC by DQ!

Same as they make it illegal to grab the cage, they can make certain other actions involving the cage illegal without making all cage-related actions illegal.

You must be trolling. This is such a non issue that I can't fathom anyone seriously getting upset over it.

Jones' fight with Glover may have been the most technical display of his career. Those were probably some of the most effective elbows I've seen used in the clinch.

I wonder how many posts have given you shit for this post right here? Simply amazing, there is always one:rolleyes:

how stupid can you be? the cage is used as a tool in every single UFC fight ever unless it's an early round 1 finish

Maybe if he would stop running up the wall like a ninja, he would stop hurting himself. One of these days we will hear that he left his toe lodged in the fence and he is getting a big toe re-attachment.

Yeah and since all other forms of pushing is allowed then pushing off it with your feet should, and is, legal as well.....

Youre probably trolling though

Will Anthony be challenged to move up to 170 for a super fight? If at all successful in any kind of way reigning as lw champion?? Anthony would get destroyed at 170. In particular Rory "next UFC WW champ"Macdonald, would destroy him in every way.

I dont think even the dumbest sherdogger thinks that.Heck, he could make 145 pretty easily. Fighting anyone at 170 would be career destruction

There might be a point here. Kid Yamamoto famously wrecked his knee as he came down from a flying knee in training. Jumping around a lot is dangerous business.

Look there's a difference between pushing off to make room and pushing off to launch yourself into the air. Same as some elbows are legal and some aren't, they can make it ok to push off in some situations but not others (like with the showtime kick).

Sure, you should write them!
The facts that flying attacks from the cage are entertaining to watch, pretty hard to pull off and in no way unfair or overpowered will be no match for your analogical evidence about different things that are illegal for different reasons.

Great Work really enjoyed it. If possible keep doin these. Would love to see one about the Boxing, Head Movement , Feet Position, Feints , Combos , etc...
