Anthony Joshua would be willing to box a mixed martial artist or accept a cage fight in the future.

He told Press Association Sport: "I like fighting, I'd do whatever.

"I'd probably get beaten. The only thing that they can't do is submissions, but they can kick, elbow, bite - whatever they want. Just no submissions.

"I can't beat a guy (via submission). That takes a lot of time to learn the skills and submissions, which I don't have the time for, but when it comes to pure aggression and fighting rules, I can definitely fight, so I don't mind that.

"It wouldn't be a problem. If you look at most boxers who've crossed over to MMA, they get beaten on the ground. James Toney, Roy Jones, they were phenomenal boxers but they just couldn't compete in the cage because of the 'ground and pound' game.

AJ managing to accept things for what they are, which is pretty mature.

Would definitely be fun to see Joshua VS Overeem in an mma-kickboxing bout in the near future.

Mirin' his realistic expectations..

Somebody drill him on some takedown defense and sparring defense.

After that his hands can do all the work :)

I'm sure Miocic is happy to hear that but the fight has zero appeal.

only because Miocic has like zero fan base.

Hes got Cleveland.

Joshua has a country.

Stipe was great against JDS though. If he keeps winning he will become a big name

It'd be interesting if they did a mixed rules fight, limits on takedowns and mat time with no submissions. They'd never do it though because he's too dangerous on his feet, he could spark any Heavyweight in the UFC pretty easily in a mixed rules fight.

Ngannu is the current UFC monster, he'd be made to look like a little girl in a stand up only fight.

Except nobody has £50 Million to ever see it happen... But he's open to it.

It's been done before.

WME has been alot more open to this sort of stuff. I honestly don't believe MayMac would have happened before

The first Cro Cop Wand match had weird rules to better suit Cro Cop

With biting allowed
raw

Miocic is a strange case, why is it difficult to hype the guy? I don't get it maybe he doesn't have charisma? UFC is not even trying to promote him (they should), he's barely trying too. His idea to promote himself using Joshua's worked but nobody really cares about Stipe.

Stipe wins most likely if wrestling is still allowed. But this would be much more interesting than Mcgregor trying to beat Mayweather in boxing. If it was strictly kickboxing, then I would give Joshua a much bigger chance, although it's hard to say how he would deal with kicks.

mma fighters are not very clever

he could easily win, could see some stupid HW just trying to stand with him

Struve mainly because he doesn't know how to use his reach/height advantage still and his BJJ
