Hypothetical UFC career for 6'6" 255 lb Anthony Joshua:

Assume that Joshua has a competent manager that doesn't accept a fight against a wrestler like Cain or Brock Lesnar for his first or second fight.

Fight #1: Vs random lower ranked head hunter like Paul Buentello. KOs the shit out of him.
Fight #2: Vs Arlovski. Wins by KO.
Fight #3: Vs Mark Hunt or Overeem. Wins by KO or decision.
Fight #4: Derrick Lewis. Wins by KO.
At this point, he's been fighting for 2 years. He's been training his ground game for 2 years. People are calling for a title shot but he takes 1 more fight.
Fight #5: Vs Ngannou or JDS. Wins by KO.
Fight #6: Vs Stipe. At this point, he's been training his ground game for 2-3 years. He weighs 250-260 lbs and is shredded. Does he have a chance?

For all you people saying that boxers can't just jump in and beat top 10 guys.. doesn't that career sound possible to you?

The UFC HW ranks are filled with old guys that have glass chins (Arlovski, Overeem) and guys that will just stand and bang (JDS, Hunt, Ngannou). A great boxer with good size (eg Mark Hunt) and/ or athleticism (eg Cro Cop) could jump in right now, win huge fights against those guys, and move up the ranks while he takes favorable matchups and works on his ground game at the same time.

Jeff Novitzky would be his biggest challenge.

I mean, following your 6-step program I guess it's possible. Anyone with half a brain is gonna shoot in 0.5 seconds though.

I'd assume he'd resemble Francis, with more crisp boxing of course.

Based on the pic, I would say that his impressive physique alone makes him the current UFC champ, and Stipe the paper champ.

Lol that's what juiced up HWs look like.

Could he pass a USADA test because let's be honest, dude is definitely on shit?

The veins on his biceps are bigger than my biceps

Every fighter is on shit and most fighters pass. The time they pop sure as fuck isn't their first time juicing up, so they're passing the tests somehow.

He knocks every striker he faces out. And would be a monster with a year of tdd training. Guy can already kick aswell.

He would dieded all hw strikers. Wouldn't pass usada. Usada is ufcs enemy it's too stupid

Right, Ive already made this exact post regarding Jon Jones' positive test...

I don't think they're all using though. I was watching older UFC's with guys like Hardonk and such who were ripped as well. UFC HWs pre USADA were ripped too.

Werdum had full abs pre USADA.. One fight later under USADA, they're gone.

This is ridiculous. He would get subbed, KO'd, whatever in MMA by even low level local talent guys. Just look at Rico's MMA bout - he is a much overall better striker than Joshua but was getting lit up on the feet by a jobber without those big gloves and ruleset to protect him. Rico eventually only won because he panic wrestled. MMA striking us so different, it to mention the fight does not get restarted at the clinch. Also see MMA fighter Jeremy Jackson sparring vs Lennox Lewis, who is Joshua but better, and watch him rag doll the fuck out of the much larger Lewis, even when Lewis tried fighting back.

stipe is one of my fav. fighters, but joshua would (even without a mma camp) be a harder fight for stipe than ngannou. AJ is better than ngannou in almost everything.
joshua 1 year of mma >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ngannou 5 years of mma

ps: i know wrestlefuck

JDS, Hunt, Arlovski, and Overeem all take him down and submit him in his first two years of grappling. Just because they don't try those techniques in the cage doesn't mean they don't practice them, it just means they recognize their striking is their long suit against most UFC heavyweights. Against Joshua their grappling is golden, and they'd all know it and use it accordingly.

Takedown defense takes several years to develop; once he has that he can beat those four, but that's a few years away.

You think he'd get ko'd by low level guys? Lol. Do you know anything about the dude?

Cro Cop disagrees.
