A morning series of explosions failed to bring down the upper ring of the Silverdome today. Onlookers took it in stride as just another failure in a place that was a monument to failure. From articles I've found SCM Engineered Demolition and Explosives, based in East China Township was the explosive demolition contractor with Adamo being the main contractor. There are claims that not all of the charges detonated. Lights were reportedly seen in the stadium at night so somebody might have disrupted the connections.

The Silverdome, like the Minnesota Metrodome, has a heavy ring that the inflatable roof was attached to. At the Metrodome, they used cranes and wrecking balls to try to take it down and large sections away from where they were working fell forcing a work stoppage. They ended up using explosives to bring it down.

This is why I would only use Controlled Demolition Inc for explosive work. They have the expertise and experience and seem to get it right. Not like people in this video.
