So I sprained my ankle April 9... I'm back to walking on it and it only hurts when I'm walking downhill or up hill and when I stretch completely to one side or the other... slight pain..not severe pain... anyone know how long before I can get back to grappling and muay thai about. Also any tips for speeding up recovery and rehabilitation

Grade 2 sprain.... I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to be walking on it much right now even...I'm just rushing and I have a physical job so I have no choice.... I think mt is completely out of the question as it will get reinjured for sure I feel ...but I feel grappling is a possibility. I can't do hops and jumps and it slightly hurts with any pressure whatsoever yet. I think I'll givee grapplin a try in a week...and see how it goes.

Rest it until you can gauge the severity, if in doubt go to a doctor.
If it is bareable, do what you can, stop what is causing pain, shift focus on bringing up non-competing weaknesses.

I'd cut the sparring and spend the time drilling or anything with an a high certainty of further damagin your ankle.

You have 27378 minutes before you can grapple or muay thai. You need to get at least 30 oranges a day for recovery. Post a pic holding a shoe for an accurate diagnosis.

Which ligament? And a grade 2 sprain is not one to train on really unless you're a psycho like me.

I do t like to say that I'm psycho but I been called that before.. I shattered my left leg in six places cause I walked on it while it was broken. Doctor didn't think it was broken too until x rays... but I don't want to get plates again cause I got a very physical job and can't take time off. So not sure what is safe. I personally know I can do it but need advice to see how safe it is to train long term wise

one thing that might help: get a bucket and fill it with beans, stick your foot into it and move it around in all directions. do this multiple times a day in 3-5 minute sessions. the resistance at all angles really helps stimulate the healing process. my grandmother's 88 years old and broke her wrist falling down the stairs, it wouldn't heal for 8+ months until she starting doing the exercises mentioned above. she learned about it from a specialist.

It don't think it really matters, just something small. Kidney beans, lentils, black beans should all be good.

Hope it works for ya!
