I started reading it back in 2012 when there were only a dozen chapters translated. Stuck with it for three years before giving up. Believe me, I gave it more than a fair shake.

Anyone see Boogiepop Phantom? Recently bought the box set for $10. The reviews say it's unique, non linear, confusing, and creative... Haven't gotten to it yet...

That was one of those titles I meant to watch way back in the day but never got around to. I'd be interested to hear what you think of it when you watch it.

I was catching up on some stuff, and the the latest chapter of All Rounder Meguru was hilarious. That woman's weigh in sequence was pure gold.

HNI is one of them. We are closing in on 30 years. About the same as Berserk.

Honestly if this is Ippo's last fight I wouldn't mind. Takamura has a much more interesting road. A lot of fans want the closing bout to be him vs Miyata if he did beat Ricardo. Unifying the WBC and WBA belt.

Sendo, Takamura, Mashiba seem like more compelling personalities. Aoki and Kimura should have been taken out of the story long ago. Itagaki is meh. Volg met his goal, doubt we'll get much more from him.

So the last major stretch of the manga I'm guessing it'll focus on:

Sendo's world stage matches and possible title shot at Ricardo.
Miyata gunning for the WBC belt.
Takamura getting more belts and possible eye ending injury.
Ippo either gets back into a groove and contends for the belt or retires and supports the gym/family business/gets with Kumi.
Itagaki and Mashiba wins some more matches. One or both might go to the world stage but fizzle out.
Aoki and Kimura stop boxing. By some miracle one of them finally wins a national title. Aoki possible revenge against Iga.

Jesus looked at that list and some of those manga...The art style is so ANCIENT looking. Like I know that their old, but it's almost surreal how much art styles have changed from back then to now.

Yes.

But as long as the story is good, art style isn't much of a problem.

I still like reading Devilman and Ashita no Joe from time to time.

But right now one the best is probably Murata. His drawings in eyeshield and OPM are insane.

Yeah I wasn't insinuating they were bad or the art was bad only that you can pretty much tell what era they're from just by looking at them.
