This was an interview on the german magazine Spiegel. It is a few years old (2008) and some of you may have already read it, but it's still pretty interesting and has been making rounds on the forums lately so I thought I'd repost it here.

Here is the link to the original article: Olympische Spiele: Der Dealer Olympias - SPIEGEL ONLINE - Nachrichten - Sport

Do any of you find this surprising? I don't. Theres things out there, right now, that can't even be tested for. So it's no doubt that all top level athletes are on something, even when they say they're not.

Obviously this is true and not that surprising but when the only way testing can catch up to drug use is when all money the sport generates is dumped back into research further testing. Just kind of mind boggling.

Of course nothing terribly surprising but I am tempted to make another account just to post this in the UFC forum for shits and grins. Apparently the average person still believes that top-level sponsored athletes are all clean because they pass tests once every 6 months.

This, it's not surprising because I just assume now everyone is dirty. I agree though that the scale of it is a little daunting

very interesting. Thanks for posting. Fun to hear someone from the inside speaking off it and not just journalists or whatever.

If you look, you can probably find something on the net from Pat Arnold about how and why he developed Tetrahydrogestrinone (the clear).

I think the public is in for a rude awakening when/if the lid comes off on PEDs in American football. Maybe don't care, but based on the public's reaction to PEDs in baseball, you'd assume they care. Using my TOOMA calculator (talking out of my ass), I estimate that at least 50% of the NFL is on some kind of illegal PED.
