Have you seen Mighty Mouse vs Cejundo? They said all the same things about Cejudo.. A super talent in wrestling like
Cejundo went to the clinch and got wrecked by a good wrestler than could strike in the clinch..the same will happen to Amir unless he really takes the time to improve his overall skills
Some one like Miocic will stall Amir's clinch and then kill him with punches, same with Overeem who has a super clinch and will stall any takedown attempt from anyone..
Same with Cain..any plenty of others
There are plenty of good wrestlers that can strike in the clinch at heavyweight without being taken down..Sure Amir would murder them in a wrestling match but in MMA the clinch isn't the same as it in in Greco..
Cejudo is a freestyle wrestler, so naturally his clinch game isnt going to be as on point as a greco roman wrestler, also, I consider cejudo as wasted talent until he does what got him to where he is, instead of acting like hes the next de la hoya he should take a page from amirs book and wrestle. If he came out of the gates to try and get the takedown instead of standing up with mighty mouse he may have had more success.
As for Amir, today he probably cant compete with the top 5 guys in the UFC, there's a good chance cain would smash him, so would werdum, JDS, stipe and maybe Overeem, but thats not as clear cut as you may make it seem. Amir would definitely take them all down, simply because they've never come up against a truly elite wrestler, your judging their takedown defence on guys of similar calibre in the wrestling department. With that being said, Amir at the very least makes the UFC top 10 today with ease, no questions about that. He takes out everybody who's ranked 6 and below. You also need to remember that Amir is pretty damn good at leg attacks as he is with his bread and butter techniques from greco, he'll definitely take everybody in the heavyweight division down, its whether he's able to keep them down, and how well he can do in regards to avoiding standup damage.
