American media double standard with Chael Sonnen

We all know that the fans and the media decided that Vitor's TRT use is the most important topic in MMA. Every article about Vitor starts with 3 paragraphs about TRT. However, where was the hate when popular American fighters use the same TRT?

Take Chael. He pissed hot in 2011 against Anderson. Vitor pissed hot in 2006. Yet, somehow the US media was happy to forgive Chael on his VERY NEXT FIGHT.

Take Bloodyelbow.com. On the 4 articles that I found here about Stann vs Sonnen (the fight immediately after Sonnen pissed hot) only one mentions Sonnen

Chael got cleared to fight in the states, Vitor has been forced to fight in Brazil because he can't get leagally cleared.

There are people who think both are bullshit. Chael is still labeled a "Roider", and it was your homeboy Vitor that pissed hot in the past, not Chael.
 
Maybe because Vitor is visibly just solid muscle.
Sonnen is lean

Maybe media feels Sonnen actually requires it, having a legitimate excuse in hypogonadism while Vitor just says he needs it.

Maybe Vitor's winning streak since his loss to Silva makes people uneasy. Sonnen meanwhile has lost to Silva and Jones. And has gotten only 2 victories.


Sonnen gets plenty of hate from Silva fans on here anyways.

Good point.

Hendo, Mir, Sonnen and Forrest are all on it, yet they are not bombarded with those questions after a win.The issue is with the people granting folks TRT exemptions.

This, it's really not that hard of a concept. Instead people blame media bias, instead of the incredibly obvious.

Sonnen before TRT weighed 197 pounds. Now, he's walking around at 230 pounds and weighs 215 come fight night and is RIPPED.
 
I really hate the term "pissed hot." It sounds so... Immature, I guess.

Prior to TRT, Chael fought the bulk of his career at 205....I have no idea were what hole you just pulled his walk around weight from.

Vitor just needs to get licensed in the U.S. After that it doesn't matter what anyone says.
 
This is not against you TS as you have a valid point. But people need to STFU about TRT. The point is that it is legal and accepted by the commissions within certain levels, if people use it within those legal levels then there is nothing to talk about. If people want to rip on TRT then rip on the commission, not the 36 year old fighter who utilises this legal precedent to maintain these levels allowing him to train at an elite level at an older age. If he messes up and pisses hot then rip cos it creates a problem for the other fighter but if done right within the limits then you can't blame the fighter IMO

not true, he hasnt applied to fight in the states for the last several fights because the events were in brazil and toronto, and it was only vegas that said they may not license him but no other state said that, so suck an egg

Wait a second, so are you saying that Chael legitimately deserves a TRT licence the very next fight after he was caught cheating?
What is the difference between the American comission giving a BS licence just because Chael is a huge draw from the Brazilian comission giving a license?

Yet somehow these people were very quiet before (especially on the media, which is the theme of this thread) and decided to come out only after Vitor admited his TRT use.

What are you talking about? People have been shitting on Chael for years.
I'm not saying anyone deserves anything, i'm saying that Chael is abiding by the rules and according the NSAC, Vitor is not. Dana himself said Vitor is using it as a true PED.

It's not a "BS Licence" and if Vitor can't even get a "BS licence" what does that tell you?

Are you seriously saying the NSAC, who is headed by Keith Kizer, who fucking hates Chael like a red-headed step-child, is corruptly licencing Chael?
