AMC's INTO THE BADLANDS (Season 3 Premiering April 22, 2018)

Well, might as well stick with AMC and see what all the fuss is about.

Well damn, nothing about that looked pleasant.

So far the show has a decent look. Okay action scene. The acting though? Yeesh.

What fuss? AMC is the only one making it. Had they advertised once an hour for the past 2 months instead of every single commercial break, I may have given it a try.

It's unfair to expect quality acting but it's horrible so far. The baron sounds like a cartoony confederate civil war general in a Tarantino movie.

That's what I mean. ;p

The episode is losing me after that opening scene, but it's still early. And yeah, that acting is pretty sketchy.

Can't wait to see the Widow, a fiery redhead.

Looks like Baron McGregor is off to get another wife for his stable. Must be a good life being a baron.

So far its been meh. But I won't rate until an entire season.

LOL. That dude threw that piece of glass like a girl. Gif worthy.

This show is not making a very good first impression.

Okay, that sword fight was pretty damn good. That's more like it.

Still don't know if I'll be able to suffer through the lead's acting though. His line delivery is so wooden. You can tell he was hired for the fighting.

Shows and movies like these are like porns: they have actors and plots that may fall flat or under deliver but they go all in on the action hoping to win you over with that.

Yeah, and I can deal with that for two hours. Ten, or thirteen, or however long this series is, I don't know.

Honestly though, his acting is bad because English is so clearly not his first language. The MA action movies I love the most are in Korean/Japanese/Chinese with subs, so the acting isn't an issue.

I thought that was kinda cool. Action is great even if the acting is bad. I like the aesthetics and setting. The Baron's wife is total MILF.

I'm going to continue watching. I need a new Sunday night show now that Game of Thrones and True Detective are off. And I gave up on the Walking Dead.

I'm intrigued enough to come back next week.

Are you talking about Daniel Wu? Because if so that dude is born and raised in California so I don't know how English wouldn't be his first language. Funny enough when he went to Hong Kong where he began his acting career, he didn't know how to speak or read Chinese.

Okay fine. I take that excuse back. He's just a run of the mill shitty actor, I guess.

I personally thought his acting was solid as was everyone else this episode. Really wish people would wait at least a few episodes before declaring someone or something bad. The age of instant gratification where people make immediate judgments without letting things develop really sucks these days. >_>

With all due respect, I don't need an entire series to judge acting. Maybe he'll improve as the show goes on, but he was pretty goddamn terrible in tonight's episode.

As for the show itself. I'm not declaring anything yet. I'd give tonight's episode a 6/10.

So it seems like it will be a pretty decent show. im gonna give it a go.

Finally caught an episode of a show on AMC. Only took about 15 years. Anyways, this seemed like a mish mash of Django + Mortal Kombat. Wasn't really disappointed since it wasn't on a must see list. I'll probably watch the next ep and see if it gets any better.
