AMC's INTO THE BADLANDS (Season 3 Premiering April 22, 2018)

Is this something I need to watch?

What do you guys rate it?

Is this something I need to watch?

What do you guys rate it?

Depends, do you like the old school karate flicks?
If so, you may like it.

First season is short, only 6 episodes i think. You'll probably either like it or not after the first couple episodes.

The fight scenes are top notch.

Can someone explain the premise, backstory, and plot? I watched some of the first season but I dont get it.

Why is it like everyone is using melee weapons, and there is no tech despite the fact there is evidence of it all around or once there?

As for the setting.

The series is set 500 years after an unspecified apocalypse destroy civilization. 100 years ago, in the area known as the Badlands, a group of 7 warlords took over, named themselves Barons, and began ruling with an iron fist.

The Barons know that firearms would level the playing field and allow the peasants to revolt, so they have banned firearms, that leaves the monopoly on violence in the hands of their troops, known as "clippers". At the time of the show, the system is beginning to show signs of collapse as the barons turn on each other and on particular baron, The Widow, wants to tear it all down an end slavery and exploitation.

Added to the mix are a group of people who apparently have mystical powers. There is an order of monks that captures and trains these people so they don't become a danger to everyone.

Outside the Badlands there are nomads, monks, scavengers and slavers.

Thanks. Is there an actual plot though? Is the plot deep? I don't want to be watching Mortal Kombat lol.

LOL so TWD without the zombies and must people are significantly better at H2H.

I am sure somewhere in their realm exists cultures that have not abandoned guns though. Once they discover these people, its game over.

AMC released a clip for this Sunday's episode.
I love the fight scenes in this show.

This show has gotten more gory since the first season. It is basically Spartacus without the breasts, and chiseled abs and pecks.

I am thinking MMA guys like McGOAT, GSP, yada will want to get some cameos.

Also what is the equivalent area or placename this story takes place in, in terms of modern geography?

Is it the Southeast? What is going on in the other areas of this country or Europe, etc, etc?

There is a plot, yes.
It's not just fight scene after fight scene, lol.
Others have put up good synopsis just recently, check them out.

If you're looking for a high level drama ala Breaking Bad, you'll be sorely disappointing. This show is meant to be a little over the top and fun. Checkout the pilot, you'll get a good gist of the feel of the show.

i wonder if fire arms will make a come back so widow can take over

Thanks. Is there an actual plot though? Is the plot deep? I don't want to be watching Mortal Kombat lol.

The gist of the first season plot is this:
In the above described setting of the Badlands, two Barons, Quinn and the Widow plot against each other. The Widow gets wind of a kid with supernatural powers and tries to get her hands on him, but he ends up recruited into Quinn’s clipper force.

Quinn’s Regent (head clipper) Sunny figures out the kid’s powers and decides to train him to solve his own problem. Clippers are forbidden from having families and Sunny has knocked up his girlfriend. Sunny wants the kid, MK, to escort Sunny’s girlfriend out of the Badlands and go looking for a mythical sanctuary city.

While all this is going on the confrontation between Quinn and the Widow blows up and begins to drag other barons in.

And Quinn's son is plotting against his father, too.

i wonder if fire arms will make a come back so widow can take over

Unlikely. This is a kung-fu show first and foremost. Bruce Lee said it best when asked why so many kung-fu movies were set in pre-industrial times...

The point of the show is all the martial arts. If you introduce guns you'd run out of ways to explain why people get into kung-fu battles instead of just shooting a bitch.

Excellent news. Glad this is coming back for a (fuller) third season.

Thanks man. That plot sounds terrible.

Im gonna pass.

#1 this show is amazing as always
#2 breaking bad is the most overrated pile of shit in history and an absolute garbage show

Moonlight will be on DVD soon I'm sure don't worry, there's something out there for you people.

Ok based on your previous post regarding Breaking Bad, you're a moron who is not into plot or character development. Are you a fan of the Transformer franchise by chance?

At least to me.
