No. No promoter is gonna pay for that at the amateur level. Only top tier pro organizations do. Amateur fighters around here are required to have bloodwork though for HIV, HEP B and C. They have also been known to do random piss tests for drugs.

No testing done here (Missouri) at all. And I am glad. some of the promoters and commisions for ammys are so disorganized and poorly run that adding any more responsibility to their plates would end up costing the fighters extreme headaches and hassle. Secondly while it is all fine and dandy for people making a living at this there are numerous OTC and prescription medicines that one cant take leading up toa fight because it will get you popped. Even things like sleep aids! but esp ADHD medication, and anti-anxiety medications or even some anti-depressants.

Like Umbra said, all we do is HepB HepC and HIV and that is considered your "bloodwork". Anyhow, don't take steroids or anything like that. It's cowardly and ruins the professionalism of the sport.

wow... just... wow. If you had any idea how many of your favorite fighters you would have to declare "talent-less" just because they used steroids in their past or currently you wouldn't be so quick to throw that around.

Cheaters? yes. Douche bags? meh, if thats your stance. No talent? uhhh how about no scott.

i think it makes a lot more sense on a pro level. you obviously have the ability, you're just looking for an edge. if you need juice as an amateur...you should probably quit.
