Am I running too much?

Last night we did a pyramid session of 200m, 400m, 600m, 400m, 200m, with 200m jog between. Repeated the whole thing 3 times with 400m jog between the 3 sets.

I found the recovery periods plenty sufficient to recover between each rep, but as UFC Truck says, getting used to the faster pace is tough, especially for an endurance runner like myself...
 
I always get them when running, even if it’s just once a week... I guess I have brittle bones/periost xD
As for the second part of your post, interesting point. Hadn’t considered it from that point, what’s your recommendation?
Shorter, faster interval runs in the neighbourhood of 2k?

If you've just started running, you'll have shin splints. Work on improving your technique to make sure you don't overstride. I had shin splints for a year or 2 when I started running before it got better.
