She talks about it happening in all walks of life, and even seems to hint towards the rarely discussed and much hidden cases of sexual assault and predatory behaviour by medical professionals. Hence the "hospital" comment.
Anyone who knows honest medics or has gotten them drunk enough to admit their true feelings will know that they don't snap their fingers and magically become asexual. They laugh and brag about all the attractive females dumb enough to let them touch them, and they even prey upon stupid women and girls so long as they can hide their intentions behind "procedures" or "looking out for their well being".
Long ago, i used to frequent a place that was also a gathering for firefighters and paramedics, and i had to listen to their vomit inducing tales about undressing injured, dying and dead women, and their comments on the attractiveness of the victims. Maybe their victims.
Coincidentally, it was around this time that i lost my faith in humanity and life itself. Nothing more disheartening than finding out your heroes are scum.
I'm not an SJW by any means, but some female empowerment movements should have merit even by Average Joe's standards.
Edit - Googled and archived an example,
I've fallen in love with a patient's boobs, that's about it.
(NO, I'm not one of those molester EMTs. )
And a follow up to the predator's post in the same thread,
That's everybody on my jobOne of my partners said that he and another guy did a 12 lead on a woman just so that they could see her busty glories. And according to him, they were quite beautiful. This isn't really the norm. That patient was sort of the exception to the rule. I guess it's kind of like wanting to do a 12 lead on Pamela Anderson...and she just called 911 just to get her finger looked at.
I would tell female students in my CPR classes that if they ever get in an ambulance and the medics wanted to do a 12 lead, they have the right to deny it
...asexual fo sho.
