He died of brain cancer which he blamed on steroid use. No study has ever linked the two.

Ali, back when he was a sixteen year old clay once went to beat up on a soon to be lightheavyweight champ of the world willie pastrano in sparring just for kicks, he claims to have whooped archie moore's butt when he was his trainer too, and there were witnesses for him making a fool out of Ingemar Johansen before one of the patterson fights. Just the fact that alzado was even hitting him tells you how much age, loss of enthusiasm, skill, endurance does to a great fighter. Alzado was a golden glove champ but that means nothing at the top level of pro boxing. Ali was at a stage where anyone was making him look bad, they say when he was training for Holmes that every sparring partner beat on him.

from what i've read, alzado was bi and the brain cancer he had was one of the oppurtunistic illnesses that effect aids patients, i don't know if that's true but there isn't any proof that steroids cause brain cancer either. usually, roids cause heart and liver problems don't they?

ya, I saw that, even staggered him that was before the berbick fight. fucked up that his own inventions and moves were being used against him by other fighters.
