Alexey Oleinik Appreciation thread!

He's one of my favorite guys at HW. Was glad to see him beat Browne. Blades will be a stiff test for him. Hopefully he can keep on moving forward in his career.

HW needs a new, young contender ;)

Awesome fighter, much respect, i heard he was the only who lost to fedor by points (not ko or sub) in combat sambo tournament when fedor was still unbeaten.
Dangerous as fuck, classy and respectful as fuck, big fan, always root for him in fights.

Yeah he's awesome
Shame he didn't come over a few years ago

Absolutely love this guy. Huge fan of his and love the way he fights. Cannot wait to see him battle Curtis blaydes. Hope he gets a top ten fight after should he win.

Curtis Blaydes does have a win over Omielanczuk, who beat Alexey, so a win over Curtis would do something.

Was still hoping Oleynik would have gotten a bigger name by now.

He has a bad ass numerical record and some solid wins in the UFC.

Blaydes is relatively unknown.

Wouldn't have minded a Oleynik vs. Ngannou match up after Francis was left without an opponent.

It's always cool to see someone from a non-traditional background do well (or at least a less common one), especially when they can actually pull off a lot of technique in the cage.

Oleynik challenged him but Francis didn't want to take that fight. It seems like Francis only wants to fight Overeem or Stipe right now.

Oleynik challenged him even though he already has a fight booked versus Blaydes! Lol! What a true warrior.

Blaydes will be a really tough opponent. Blaydes is one of the few HWs that have some wrestling experience and he is a very big dude. I don't know exactly how good his submission defense is but I have a feeling he won't want to test it. I believe Blaydes will try to keep the fight on the feet.

It's going to be difficult taking down Blaydes but maybe he can rock him with a punch first and then drag Curtis to the mat.

If he beats Blaydes, he should fight the Werdum/Lewis winner next.

These are the type of fighters that I wish were discussed more on Shedog, great guy and a great fighter , best hair since Heath Herring.

If he beats Blaydes, he should get a top 5 guy next.

Only UFC fight he lost he took against DR's recommendation. In less then 2.5 years he will set the record for longest active MMA career.

Oleynik doing the MMA world a solid here:

that chael quote in your sig. man that was so great. all we'd had was conors stammering garbage for so long, then chael came back to bellator and called tito out for being married to a porno demon. thats that real shit, i actually felt like i had been punched in the stomach when he said that lmfao

52 wins, 43 by submission. Cain Velasquez has had 16 total fights.

i love when a guy like alexey comes along, with a bit of a different style to the kind of cookie-cutter standard mma guys. it reminds me of the old days when nobody knew what would work and every fight was kind of a mystery unfolding. can't help wondering if he has more ezekiel chokes in pro mma than everyone else put together

Tito's comeback was, "You know that we were never married, right?"

Lol thats not how i remember it, i just remember tito sitting there shaking his head and saying "i cant believe you you piece of shit" or something lmao

This guy needs some push, UFC should promote him well.

A very underrated contender.

Nobody wants to fight this guy. But soon enough they will have to!

He has more submission victories than a lot of these fighters have total fights!

He has that grindy, never stop fighting style, like a Fedor, always enjoy watching this guy, hes a great guy, classy, respectful, I hope he gets a shot at the title soon.
