Hey Guys,

It's been a second.

Since at least 2011, I've tried to keep track of what subs have been trending at ADCC. It's that time again.

For comparison before we get to this year, here are my 2015, 2013, and 2011 numbers:

Breakdown for Both Days of ADCC 2015:

Leg Attacks: 9 total (6 heelhooks, 2 kneebars, and 1 toe hold)
Full Body Attacks: 1 total( 1 Twister)
Upper Body Attacks: 18 total (6 RNC, 4 Armbar including 1 triangle armbar and 1 crucifix armbar with legs, 2 Kimura , 2 Triangle--including 1 no arm, 1 reverse, 1 Pressing Armlock, 1 Arm Triangle, 1 Omoplata, and 1 D'Arce)
Non-Subs: 48 total (34 Points and 14 Judge’s Decision)

Here are my numbers so far for the 2017 Elimination Round:

According to my draft numbers, the Elimination Round saw a 25% submission rate. Working on the Quarters Now.

Let me know what mistakes you see.

Okay the quarters are now updated in the spreadsheet. Amazingly, the submission % went UP slightly in the quarters (mainly because the -88kg competitors are such god damn savages).

Okay, all numbers from all men's matches should be in the spreadsheet now. I'm sure there are mistakes so let me know when you see them.

Right now the draft numbers show the trends below.

26% of matches ended in sub
18% ended in Ref's decision
56% were won on points

Among the submissions there were:
8 leg attacks
6 armbars
6 RNCs
3 guillotines
2 triangles
1 arm triangle

The leg attacks were: 3 inside heelhooks, 3 outside heelhooks, 1 toe hold, and 1 no arm kneebar.

Crazy that 3 of those armbars were Xande.
And of the 3 inverted heel hooks 2 of them were Gordon Ryan and the 3rd was Joao Assis over Jeff Monson.

This year had the least variety in submissions without a doubt.
