Shaquille O'Neal once explained what made MMA one of the toughest sports

Shaquille O'Neal was one of the top centers in NBA history, winning three titles with the LA Lakers and one Miami Heat.

However, after spending years in the league known for its physicality, he still called MMA as the hardest sport and attributed it to helping him win championships. About the toughness it builds, the four-time NBA champion explained why MMA is not everyone's cup of tea.

"MMA is the hardest sport because you work on every muscle. Sometimes in football we can go, boom ... aahh, boom boom boom ... aahh, that's what I'm saying, you get a break. "In MMA, 3 to 5 minutes, you don't get no break. So try not getting a break and then somebody choking and hitting you, that was the hardest sport.

On a side note, the article also confirms Jake Paul vs. Diaz 2.

Always interesting to hear what a top athlete thinks. I’ve always been impressed by elite MMA fighters and boxers and how they make in-fight adjustments. You’re trying to relax, not burn too much oxygen, hit/hurt your opponent, deal with their strikes/footwork/ takedowns, and adjust as necessary. It’s impressive when you see it happening. Off-hand, seeing Eddie Alvarez beat Justin Gaethje with body shots, all the while dealing with those fearsome leg kicks. Remarkable

Toughest sport probably. Hardest - likely not.

Football is what like 2-5 second plays then rest?
Boxing is harder than MMA though

It was been very difficult, hence why is #bluecollarwarriors such as Sean Tarzan, Conor McGregor (pre-sexual deviant), and others have been do many great things.

MMA assist one in helping build their character through #discipline lifestyle in many discipline but not only just one. Much like individual who hold multiple job like Alexandre Flyweight and esteemed former champ Stipe Miocic.

Despite this, I hope that one day the mma pay will scale equal with effort put forth, possibly even surpassing that of the growing sport of Power Slap (ex: Austin "Turp Daddy Slim" Turpin was been able to quit his job and train full time after just one #battle, which then propel him to title shot on October 25th)

Ari Emanuel must be stopped.

Shaq knows what he's talking about. He had a tv show where he competed in other sports against some of their best. MMA probably has the most variables an athlete has to account for
